I wish there was more to do to make the park safe. Suicides are obviously unavoidable but I've reported a kid with a gun, there's been a crossbow incident, one night we were coming back from a walk and a bunch of teenagers drove up on the basketball court and were trying to steal the basketball goal. I called the cop right away and by the time the cop got there, they were gone by like 5 minutes. Broken swings, people urinating on the equipment... My kids love the park but I hate taking them over there because it is such a mess..

They tried the security guard which worked for a little while. The only thing left is for parents to control their kids, which seems impossible and concerned citizens calling the police and reporting anything suspicious. I don't like calling anyone's kids "thugs" but that is just what some of these kids are. They have no respect for the park and other people's property. I've witness pot smoking and have heard of the other things that have been mentioned in comments along with some not mentioned. You would be surprised. I don't think its mostly the Deer Creek kids, but other kids from other sub-divisions. As neighbors we need to ban together and watch out neighborhood closely and continue to report to police.

Don't think the kids at the school saw anything. My son was afraid to go outside when he got home because he thought there had been another kidnapping. Probably the real story will get around today.

I too passed by as I was leaving and saw him lying on the ground, I thought maybe someone had a heart attack and died, but was shocked to hear what had happened. I talked to the school and the kids did not see anything, they were just asked to stay indoors until everything was clear. I too am praying for the family, he must of lived close by to walk here. It was a sad day yesterday. I cant help but think, if I would have left sooner could i have seen him and helped, with whatever was troubling him.

Does anyone know who the man was? I was wondering if it was a brother to a lady I know.

I live less than a mile away from the site, and my brother frequently visits the park. I have heard no details other than the fact that there was a body found, obviously hung. I know the tree from where he did it, too. You can't miss it, it's a very distinct tree, and now even more so due to it's role in a man's death. I am slightly clairvoyant, and during the time of the death I was deeply saddened, but I didn't know why.

Are you kidding me? Clairvoyant? Saddened at the time of death? Do you really know how long the man was there before being discovered? He committed suicide during the night. He was there all night before being discovered. If you were that clairvoyant, then maybe you would have caught it before it happened. This is sad that you would brag of "YOUR CLAIRVOYANCY". If it was your intention to have your stupidity shine through, then you have obviously achieved that goal.

You have no idea of what some kids were doing right after school had let out. There were three young girls that were going around Falcon Ridge bragging that they went to the park so they could see if the rope was still hanging there. Their ages? 8,8, and 9. What kills me here is that when I talked to the parent of one of the children, they were fine with it. What's wrong with people? What kind of parent would approve of such a thing? Then laugh about it?
