Aubry rented to me and my roomates, we got out of there as quick as we could - police there all the time, a man shot himself and his girlfriend in a home across the street from us! He got word we were moving, changed our locks and stole everything we had left in the house! We had to call the police to get it all back. STAY AWAY FROM MATHOM LANDING!
Don't worry about Aubry stealing from you. He has done alot of people low down and dirty. He is a person who is trying to live above his means. Go to the Bexar County Appraisal District web site. Insert his name Aubry or Audry Fontenot. They had a house in his wife name (Carrie Fontenot) and it went into foreclosure. Everything he has done to others, believe me, he has paid dearly. He adopted some kid just to get money for them. He is a sad,sad case.

Hello! I have been reading all of the posts and have become very concerned. My husband and I know a couple who own one of the four plexes. They are selling their units, and we are loooking into buying it from them. We will be living in one and renting out the others. After reading all of the posts, I am almost afraid to consider this neighborhood. We've had the opportunity to see one of the homes, which had a great layout, but they seem to be very run down to have been built in 2007. Also, we rode through the community yesterday, and I noticed several for rent signs and vacant units. For all of you that are property owners, is are you finding that tenants are leaving because they no longer want to be in that community? For those living there now, how is the community? My fear is that we purchase the units, and then we'll have problems keeping tenants because no one wants to live there. Can you all please give some advice on whether or not the investment is worth it based on the community? Thank you!

I never saw this page until I moved in, thankfully. This neighborhood is fine and I'm very happy here. Maybe it was sketchy in 2008, who knows, but if it was it certainly turned around in 3 years. Right next to a BIG church, day care and a great shopping center. Disregard the negative posts!

I've lived here for 2 years, I've had no problems. Each building is owned by a different person. I love my landlord, he's kind and fixes stuff quick. It used to be bad but my anymore. No worries here.

<quoted text> I would be concerned if I were you, I found out this subdivision has been turned into a section by way of the internet and people I have met those who are on this paid assistance, my children play with their children, and what is worse is that they are not doing background checks either. The increase in police visits is because of not filtering the people through NO BACKGROUND CHECKS!
It is sad that some make it bad for all. Section8 8 is not the problem! Please do not discriminate. It is the individual. Hard times could fall on either one of us at any given time. It doesnt make us law breakers and awful people does it? I know several people on section8 and they have clean homes and are very nice people. Think about it we all just want a descent place to call home. Not have to live in the slums because of hardship. If they had character before hard times they will have good character after!Pray God does not judge us this way as you are judging those less fortunate.

Universal City has a very involved Neighborhood Watch Association. If anyone who lives in Mathom Landing would like to get involved/start a Neighborhood Watch for Mathom Landing, please contact the police dept and ask about it. They will get you in touch with the Universal City Neighborhood Watch Coordinator. He does an outstanding job.

For those that live here and are content I would like to put together some community events, so that children have a safe place to play and we can get to know our neighbors. I am not part of the homeowner's association so I do not know how to get something like this started. If anyone knows how I can get in contact with the HOA and for those interested in being involved with our community please email me at [email protected] com.

I resent all the negativity about section 8 clients. I was on section 8 for several years. I worked full time, went to school full time, raised my children on my own and was a very good steward of my home and posessions. Not all section 8 clients are irresponsible individuals. Stop judging. It makes you appear snobby and ignorant.

To all those looking into Mathom Landing:
STOP, TURN AROUND, and don’t ever live here.
We made the worse mistake ever by signing a lease here. WE have been here for 2.5 months and have had over 4 repair requests, and only one has been resolved. The management (Victoria) is one of the most unprofessional individuals I have met. For example, before we moved in, the management said they would power wash the entrance walkway to our door because it was mostly covered in moss due to the sitting water. It was not done, and as my son who is 2yrs old walked out the front door with my husband, he slipped and hit his head on the concrete. We were very thankful he wasn’t seriously hurt, but after addressing this in a professional manner, Victoria could care less about what happened to my son, but stated if my son had been wearing the proper shoes he wouldn’t have slipped, Guess what, he was wearing tennis shoes. Zero compassion or any apology for that matter. She gave us the opportunity to move out since we weren’t happy, but they were going to charge us $700 convenience fee. so not only were we very unhappy with the choice we had just made, but now we have to pay to move out of an unsafe place. I wouldn’t consider this neighborhood really safe, I wouldn’t take a walk around with my kids. Very crowded, lots of repairs needed, but nothing ever gets done because they have to hire out all contractors. OH and the contractors don’t even want to work with Mathom Landing Management. Management tells you that each building is owned separately, but that is a real problem because we as tenets are the ones who suffer from owners who dont want to spend money to repair so nothing gets done
Backyard: we didnt have grass, we had weeds and lots of dirt, so in all reality we had to spend the money to plant seed so our children could enjoy the outdoors.
Wasp nests: They are everywhere on the buildings, there are over 10 just on ours.
Noise: We can hear our neighbors running up and down their stairs, talking (muffled) so the walls aren’t solid.
Smoke: We can smell our neighbors smoking every night as it seeps into our vents. Just want non smokers want to smell at 11pm as we are headed to bed.
Driveway- if you get a sloped driveway, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but loading and unloading 2 kids into car seats gets old on an incline.
Sprinkler system in house: always a concern if they malfunction or are set off by neighbors smoking.
Management- Victoria decided she didnt want deal with us anymore, so she handed us off to someone named Alex, who I have never met and have asked him to call me, but he has yet to do so.
Dont live at Mathom Landing in Universal city , tx. Find a home to rent for about the same amount. Mathom Landing still holds a hefty security deposit, and that’s because we have a credit score over 700.
Needless to say, we will do everything we can to save a family from moving here.
