Virginia military installations vigilant

The mass shootings at Fort Hood in Texas is not prompting any immediate security changes at most military installations in Virginia .

The first statement in this article is very true! There have been NO CHANGES in securtiy at installations. Just got back from Fort Lee. Had to get my dependent ID card renewed. It expired in early October. Presented ID card at main gate check point and was passed right on in by a civilian security guard manning the gate. I FEEL REALLY SAFE!!(NOT). This is not the first time either. Same thing happened 4 years ago. My card had expired and I was allowed to come and go from Ft. Lee for 6 months, before I discovered my card had expired. My husband reported the security lapse this time to the MP station at Ft. Lee. Was told that someone report the incident to a superior officer. I have no confidence at this point.

Hard to guard against an enemy from within.

I fear that there is no certain way with our free beliefs in this country to guard against anyone coming in and infiltrating ANYTHING and doing harm to inocent civilians or even our military. Our country has to come to terms with the fact that times are not like they were 40 or 50 years ago. And adjustments need to be made. Only to safeguard us, not to take away the rights of REAL Americans!!! And if someone is here pretending to be an American, that should be taken up in the courts. Therefore the adjustments!!!
