Can you imagine how many laws you would have to memorize if all 50 states created 'all' their own laws?

How many fines you would be paying? Jail time? Lawyer fees? You would have a criminal record for sure. For Profit jails would be on every corner.

My opinion: In matters that concern most of the citizens of the US, laws should be created by Congress.

We are the United States, not separate countries.

Haven't you heard about the group "ALEC"?

Moyer's & Co.(PBS) did a show about this group the other Sunday.

Heard where this is a group of Corporations who wine and dine legislatures at resorts to get them to create laws in ALEC's (corporations) favor and have been around since the 70's (meet under the guise of exchanging ideas, but legislatures tend to follow their lead). They are for getting rid of SS, turning Medicare over to FOR PROFIT and against creating a LIVING WAGE as min. wage (either people receive a living wage or receive welfare). Unions created better working conditions in most companies (union or not). Getting rid of unions and the labor board will do the reverse. Think about it!

There are protests all over the country against this group. Several corporations terminated their membership when this group got a lot of attention last year. I think the Koch Bros. are leaders in 'ALEC'; cannot be good for the average taxpayer!

Seems like they want states to create their own laws; not Congress.

If you have not heard of this group, educate yourself. Bobby Jindal received an award from this group; not good. Jindal and the GOP in LA are implementing the corporate plan here in LA. That is probably why there were so many cuts to Education and Healthcare and a push to turn the prison system over to FOR PROFIT. Maybe this is why Jindal wants to cut taxes for corporations. ALEC is a special interest group; not good for LA.

Maybe why Jindal did NOT agree to expand Medicaid. This will HURT LA in the long run; but Jindal is probably leaving after this term and doesn't seem to care! Other hardcore GOP Governors have expanded Medicaid in their states because it was THE RIGHT THING TO DO!
