I believe he is guilty in more cases. Throw his ass in the population! He writes a letter to the parents which in my opinion taunts them more. The investigators questioned him in 1999 & after in others-they knew it then!

Everyone was saying that Nolan which is Gary's dad is related to BSL. I was just repeating what the papers were saying and didn't the people who adopted him, adopted him from a relative? Does anyone know if they will release all the info they had on BSL since there won't be a trial? Will they say if they did find the bloody photos and picture id's of women and will they list them if it's true? I would like to know about his childhood too. Is it really true about him having a woman duct taped and his family did nothing? I hadn't heard that until now. I do remember when he and some other guys did the stuff at the cementary and put bones in mailboxes.

I think this is what happened to him. He always wondered about killing n wanted to do it and when LP wanted to leave that night, his temper got the better of him but he loved the thrill and how it made him feel. Then he goes to jail for 8 yrs always thinking about what he did to LP n couldn't wait to get out n do it again. As soon as he was out, started again and the only reason he got caught was because of MS and her parents pushing to have her on the news and to have people keep looking. If not for them, I think he would've gotten away with even more than he's already did. I'm thinking it's at least 7- 10 he killed. I hope I'm wrong but there's way too many girls missing on that stretch of hwy he drives back to n from in Texas. There may even be some others before LP and After her before he went to jail.
I sure wish MS would have won the battle with BSL and she be the one telling her story instead of him getting all this attention. She is what every woman should be in that situation. Fight as hard as you can. She sure tried but he was too strong. I admire her bravery.

I congratulate the police officers on doing their job well.

The REAL HERO in this story,in my opinion, is the person that called in the tip that got the ball rolling. MY HAT GOES OFF TO YOU!

If this person had not called, regardless of the reward, the murders would still be unsolved.

It just goes to show you that community involvement really MATTERS alot! CP should have a secured TIP LINE if it doen't already.

Have a blessed DAY!

Personally... I don't think anyone called in to a tip line... Because BSL wanted to plea bargain instead of death penalty.... He told where her body was himself. They said in the news that the BSL had wanted to give the Schnick family closure and so all this was hush hush until it was all done.

I was referring to the very first tip that put them on BSL's trail. Someone called the tip line (investigator) that got the ball rolling in BSL's direction.

I thought they traced her movement from camera to camera saw the truck, found out it was registered to him and started looking for him. Did I miss something?

Yes, I want to congratulate everyone involved. It was a team effort by everyone involved. It took her family (parents and sister), and all media that kept the focus on Mickey.

Well, if they had the truck owner info, why did they broadcast it -broadcasting it gave him time to run run run. In fact, that was when he decided to burn it.

Like the other person, I heard that it was a tip called into the investigator tip line. He was interviewed by local news channels and he said he had "A REALLY GOOD TIP called in". They were following it up.

I agree, there were a lot of people involved, but THANK GOD for that tip that led to BSL. That person saved lives (future ladies).
Once the tip came in, the police put their training experience to work (which is what they get paid to do everyday).

There was a tip from Brandon's girlfriends brother-n-law Adam. The girlfriends family was suspicious before Mickeys abduction of Brandon and then he came around with the stab wounds and that sent red flags to this ladies family. Adam posted on a blog that Brandon would never shut up and was always braggjng. Could we say psychopath?

I have followed this since day one and it really sadened me that Brandon wasn't put away for life in 1999. Mickey would still be alive, enjoying life. Mickey put one hell of a fight and she will always be our HERO. Also, I feel if it wasn't for Mickeys determination, that left visible wounds on this monster. We would still have a serial killer on the streets today.

I believe there is more victims of Brandon. There is no way he went four years without killing an innocent woman. Ali Lowitzer from Texas was abducted in 2010. She was only 16. Witnesses saw her talking to a man in a white truck and only got half of his liscense plate number. These past two years has led to no matches with Texas liscense plate numbers. Then when Brandon was arrested the PI of Ali's ran Brandon's 2005 model truck and it was a match. Brandon's half biological sister lives a mile from where Ali was abducted and where Brandon's truck was found.

To all the locals: what happened to Brandon's uncle, the butcher.
Well

Thanks Just Curious, I didn't know about the tip. However, I did know about the 16 year old girl, by reading about it. I've been with Mickeys story from the beginning, however in the beginning I was pretty busy. Looks like I need to research to see if I missed anything else.

It seems like Adam4LSU created a thread on tigerdroppings.com asking for advice about his sister in law dating a RSO. I think this was before Micky was kidnapped. He posted a link to the BSL's Sex Offender page. On that page is the description of Brandon's truck so when Micky was abducted and law enforcement published the picture of the truck. Adam noticed it was the same type of truck listed on the SRO page. This is the first tip that led LE to BSL. If you go to websleuths.com there is tons of information there, including posts by the father of BSL's biological half sister. He tells how Brandon got from the burned truck back to Louisiana and lots of other information you won't find anywhere else. He also stated that BSL's biological father was a successful business man in CP who was having an affair with BSL's real mother and that she gave away Brandon and didn't want to have anything to do with Brandon even after he contacted her several times. Does anyone know who this businessman is?

From what I gather, a poster at " tigerdroppings.com " started posting on May 26th about a guy his sister in law was seeing...the family was concerned. As the Mickey Shunick investigation proceeded and the pictures of the trucks came out...pieces started falling into place that it might be the same guy that took Mickey. Adam posted a link to the guy that was arrested today's record on May 26th. He made a statement in the forum last week that an arrest in Mickey's case was coming soon...was almost banned over it.
There are probably more posts that were in other threads, these are from some of the ones I read tonight.
I originally read about all of it in this Facebook post:

So, here is a thread from tigerdroppings.com regarding Mickey Shunick( http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/p/34486548... ). Read all of "Adam4LSU" post. His sister-in-law was dating the guy. Read pg 22 in the thread link above. It talks about how he BURNED his Z71. Also, on May 26th, in this thread ( http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/display.as... ) Adam4LSU talks about Brandon and posted a link to him. So, they must have been knowing it was him. Really interesting reading. Adam4LSU first posted something about Brandon just one week after Mickey went missing.

Need OT advice...again (Posted on 5/26/12 at 12:42 p.m.)
I won't go into the entire story because it's way too long and none of you will read.
Sister in law dating this dude who we thought had some issues he wasn't telling us. Found out the creep is a tier 3 registered sex offender with the charge of aggravated oral sexual battery. Here's the link to this guy LINK http://www.icrimewatch.net/offenderdetails.ph...
We confronted her and of course she is all..oh he was innocent and wrongfully charged blah blah blah..shes talking marriage and shite with this dude. Problem is she has 2 small kids. Is there a way to talk to the officer in charge of his case back in 2000' and find out if this charge was from his wife or little girl? His ex wife had all parental rights removed from him and had her daughters last name changed. He is legally prohibited from ever coming in contact with her. He was booked in Evangeline Parish.
I've never had to do shite like this before so I have no clue the 1st step we should take. The last 12 hours has been a shite storm on my wife's side of the family

i would suggest going to the police/sheriff dept and talking to them
Are they usually cool with giving out details of cases? If this was something that had to do with his daughter than it's a much bigger deal IMO and these details would mean everything

his uncle was murdered but it was blamed on a man with last name of melacon. He killed himself 3 days after black was murdered.
What was Brandon always bragging about?

It amazing how things work out. If that camera on the LCG building doesn't get a shot of the truck and that info isn't passed on to the public this guy that gave the tip may have never put 2 and 2 together and BSL is probably still walking the streets. When he saw the truck he probably went on a hunch and they investigated and next thing ya know, this guy is all over the world and reported a truck stolen and looks guilty. Didn't take Sherlock Holmes to solve this one. He actually made it easy by trying to create an alibi and reporting his truck stolen. I have a daughter that actually live in his home town. Thank God for all that worked on the case. Everyone from the general public to the police.

But if Adams4u on tiger droppings wouldn't have called a friend on the LE and kept on them until they told him that they suspected him, he would still be free to do another crime.
