East Tenn. Woman gets $13,000 phone bill

Shirley Ann Billings of Church Hill talks on her cell phone, but not at a cost of more than $13,000. She reported to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office that she'd received a cell phone bill for $13,162.31. She quoted her cell phone provider as saying someone had tapped into her cell phone line and made numerous calls to foreign countries.

Can't you just accept that maybe it was a mistake.Why do you need to bring the husband into it.I know that when my daughter was in the military,I had a plan to cover it.But I got a bill for 3,600 and had to call and they fixed it and my bill was less than 200,big difference.

Can't you accept that there is a possibility that it was the husband calling the 1-900 numbers? It is a possibility right?

humm, well seems we got a whole new conversation and some doubts going on here huh?makes you wonder don't it? and yes it is possible it was a mistake, i know i get charged sometimes for stuff i haven't used on mine. but 13,000.00? you got to be kidding me. And besides aren't all these bills done by computers? i sure nobody sets and listens to all our calls. hum or do they? lol

You should see the phone bills from "Jail house" and/or prison phones. They are often $10.00 per MINUTE (not Hours) or so. The legal system including punishment places does not want you to rob anyone, but they have no problem letting someone rob you.

wow you got that right, Truck Driver, i think, the phone companies and cable companies are robbing the poor and giving to the rich, they should be called Robinhood cable or phone co. instead of names we have no idea who we are paying anyway. and as far as all the taxes we pay who even knows what they are for.i'd be glad to pay taxes 1 time, but 3 or 4 taxes on one bill is ridiculous!So no wonder were getting bils for 3000.00 hard to tell who were paying anyway. But i still don't rule out the hubby! lol
