Carters Valley Fire Chief dating 17 year old

Well look I have reported this to the police and to the state of tennessee and NO ONE does anything about it. See the Chief of Carters Valley Fire Dept is dating a 17 year old. She is the a JUNIOR member he is the chief. he is 38ish and she is 17. They have went skinny dipping together,drinking,parting, and soon to be myrtle beach. Does anyone know what can be done about this? The chief is Mike Yates. He has recently been devorced for cheating on his wife. And now this? I mean this is a PUBLIC thing cause Yates is a public service member. and should not be dating a 17 year old!

It is none of my business, as I am not her parent.
Most 17 year old girls date. I did and got engaged when I was 17.
Think, she is probably a senior or has already graduated high school.
Now tell me how many girls are dating at that age?? Any of them that can get a date that's who.
It really doesn't matter what the guys occupation is. She probably wants a guy with a job, and not one with a pill hanging out of his nose.

nope i am not the X. I am a member of another fire dept. I just think its bad that SHE is 17 and HE is 38. school does not matter. its the age. she is 18 yet. and he suplies to minors.(beer and such) Thats not right he is pretty much raping her.

I don't know who you are either but why spread such rumors when you don't even know the facts. Were you there are this "party" or with them at all?Probably not.Seems people have nothing better to do then slam fire chiefs in this area. Guess the fire chiefs at the other depts better be prepared.

let me also add that if you knew Mike Yates you would know how old he really was.He isn't 38 he is younger than that and he is seperated from his wife but just because 2 people hang out together doesn't mean they are sleeping together.. maybe they are just good friends who like to hang out when not fighting fires or training. I hang out with other fire dept members including Mike and it doesn't mean I am sleeping around with him or any other firefighters, I am happily married to my firefighter. Enough said about this topic.

Mr. Linkous, which I know is probably not your real name. I am the mother of the 17 year old that you are discussing in your forum. Her father and I are well aware of the friendship that she and Mr. Yates have. We have "NO" problem with it. Her Father and I think you need to mind your own business and let everyone else tend to their own. As far as our daughter's age, she will be 18 in 5 days. She is very mature and we know that she is capable of making her own decisions, which we respect. As far as Mr. Yates getting a divorce because of an extra-marital affair as you say, which is not true, makes me wonder what your personal vendetta against him is? Maybe your wife has her eyes on him or maybe you do and your jealous because you think a 17 year old got him instead. Please mind your own business and leave the members of the CVVFD alone. They do an excellant job and please remember it is volunteer and anything that goes on in their own time is their business. As I can assure you, our daughter would not do anything to harm her reputation or the reputation of this fire dept. She loves volunteering here and puts alot of her time into it. She is not like alot of your teenagers out here drinking, doing drugs, stealing etc. She just graduated school with honors, she works full time and also volunteers at CVVFD. Well, where are you at Mr. Linkous? You want to accuse my daughter of underage drinking, skinny dipping, partying and mess into her personal life, well, you better have the proof to back this up. You say you have contacted the Police and The State of Tennessee, well if you don't have proof to back up your allegations, then there are going to be charges brought against you. False reporting, slander and a few more if you are who I think you are. You don't mess with our daughter and her reputation. Being a Firefighter and helping people any way she can has been her dreams for a long time. And about Mr. Yates, he has been a very good friend to our family for a long time and we appreciate all he has done for us. So, you have started something now, getting on here and making all these false accusations. Again, I must warn you, don't mess with our daughter and her friends. You mess with fire, you get burnt.
