My family has had enough with california and have decided to relocate to Alaska by next spring. We have three children that are very excited. They range in ages from 14 to 8. We don't want to live in a city but not out in the bush either so have really been taking a look at Eagle River and surrounding areas. I'm trying to get any info, from people that actually live there, about anything from schools, housing, or even possible job leads.

If you are looking for country living and not wanting to live in the middle of no where forget about it. Anchorage Eagle River Wasilla is very overcrowded i have lived here for close to 15 years since i moved here the price of housing has doubled and everything is built on top of each other. Traffic is terrible there is only two ways to get out of Anchorage. Glenn highway and seward highway to the south. The roads are always crowded i put up with Eagle River for 14 years got tired of the shootings in Anchorage the drug epidemic that is sweeping Alaska heroine has gotten to be a big drug in this state. Drunks laying out all over Anchorage. Cost of living just everyday things and fuel you take a big hit. Winters mess with people up here my wife and oldest daughter cant take all the darkness.
