Food City where Hoover was. No pals as of yet. I don't know why FC would want to locate here since we done got 4 other grocery stores...2 igs's, food lion, and walmart. other facts are that tax payers are paying $9.3 million for a new railroad over pass when there are only 4 trains per day now that obama declared war on coal. school board wants a new school...guess they gonna put that on the tax payers too.

I love Food City. Unfortunately, it will hurt Food Lion's business, but Food City has a much better variety and cheaper prices too!

I disagree. Food City's prices are not cheaper, in my opinion.

Laugh all you want, not funny when towns are shutting down because of all the new regulations on energy fueled by coal.
Hope you keep in mind all the families that are without because of it when you eat dinner tonight.
Let me ask you one question,do you work,or are you on disability?

Coal is in decline because natural gas is a cheaper and cleaner source of energy and pollutes the atmosphere much less than coal-powered plants. You should educate yourself on a subject before you spout your nonsense on here and end up looking less than intelligent. And no I'm not on disability and have no idea what bearing that would have on this issue if I was.

If you investigate further you will find up to 70 percent of the coal that was being used to fuel southern steam plants was being supplied from South America . Another example of how N A F T A has stuck one in the American people.

Since the topic of coal has been brought up on here I thought I would take a little time to help you get your facts straight. There are several different reasons for the plight of the coal industry and I'm afraid the President has very little to do with it. For the last 25 years the coal experts have pleaded with the big coal companies to pour more dollars into clean coal research for the longterm survival of the industry but they are still many years behind where they should be. At the same time the natural gas industry has made great leaps in technoligy which has made natural gas both cheap and plentiful. The person who said that the US imports 70% of coal that is consumed by electric plants is way off base as the actual amount is 4% as of this year. The coal that is imported is a very low sulfer coal that is imported from Columbia and Venezelua from mines owned by US coal companies for gulf coastal steam plants. The US has vast amounts of this type coal in mines in Wyoming but the US does not have the rail capacity for dependable delivery to the south and eastern coasts. At the same time the type of coal that is produced in the southeast is best suited for steel production and until recently has been exported in vast amounts to China to fuel their economic boom for steel building materials but in the last couple of years that demand has declined greatly. There are many factors at play when it comes to the coal industry but the President whom ever he or she might be has very little to do with it but I am sure political oponents would rather you think otherwise.

Your little remark about diasbility covers a lot of people that don't deserve you little remarks...I am on disability not because I want to be but I have no other choice...I worked for 35 years most of the time I worked 2 jobs. Never ask anyone for anything and raised my children by myself...but I got hurt a few years back and working is impossible for me so save your little remarks about people on disability not all of us are here because we want to be...I would go back to work now if I could...Just dont put us down there is some out there just like me but there is also a lot of people out there that abuse the system and that I don't understand...so think before you post.

Lots of abusers on welfare,it wasn't a blanket statement.Sorry you are unable to work, but the comment was asking if the commenter was on welfare.Fact is,lots of lazy people are abusing the system, lots of drug addicts use the system to supply their habits. If you are not in that group, you shouldn't feel offended.I see people selling their food stamp cards a lot, that's a fact, not a remark.
