Has anyone ever been to the Er for pain, just to have a psycho doctor to go off on them? my friend has, but before he went off on her he cleared the other patience that were behind the other curtains out of the rooms, she told me if her hubby had not been there, it is hard telling what he might of had done to her. his facial expressions and his eyes had an angry psychotic look. she is a good person and has never been hooked on any type of drug or alcohol. here in the last few years she has had allot of pain and whenever her pain becomes worse she has to go to the ER. because she has chronic pain her regular doctor will only tell her to take Tylenol that will not work for her whenever the pain becomes worse. she only goes to the ER, because she has no other choice. but he told her not to come back, she started to ask him a question, after she had thought that he had finished his sentence, But he yelled at her and told her "hey Iam talking and do not even dare to interrupt me!!!!! and made her cry, he was so rude and judged her without even knowing her. she was really scared, has anyone else ever had the same problem? it may be time for a class action law suit.

You must be on pills right now. "this time he has messed with the wrong one"? What the hello are you talking about. SThought you said they had never been to the hospital before now you talk as though you know all about this doctor and how he has "messed" with others. So stupid.

It is the double wide hospital at the end of the trailer park. They also have a pharmacy by the hitch side, all the pills you need.

If her family doctor who I assume sees her on a regular basis does not think she needs pain medication then why should an ER doctor? What is her pain? Does she have X-rays or scans showing the cause of the pain? The days of walking into the ER and getting pain meds whether you need them or not are over. she was probably the 15th patient he saw that night looking for pain meds. Who can blame him for snapping. For every 1 person that legitamity needs pain meds there are a dozen who claim their back is killing them just for pills. she needs to get medical proof that she has a problem before she can expect to be prescribed anything.

You have to start by complaining. First you need to complain to the hospital--let them know that how you were treated is not in keeping with the values that they claim to hold

Second, complain to the state medical board. This physician has a license. It's entirely possible that others have made complaints about him (her) in the past. Be very specific about how treatment was not completed and how your friend was told to not return for treatment.

You may feel like you're not doing enough, but believe me, when the state becomes involved in a case of patient abuse or physician misconduct, the hospital and the physicians pay attention. Their licenses are on the line. They can be reprimanded or even fined for behavior.

I'd also make a complaint to the AMA and any other professional associations this physician has. You can usually find out what kind of associations they have by simply looking around the Internet. Make complaints to all of the boards.

Basically, you want to drown these people in paperwork. You want to get their attention that their behavior was inappropriate. You want them to know that if they have lost their desire to help people in need then they need to get another job--digging ditches, selling TVs, working on cars--something that doesn't involve direct human contact.

Good luck... I believe that we live in a time when you're simply damned if you have chronic pain. Future generations will look back on us in disgust at the way we treat people who are suffering.

Oh my, look who showed up! "...the way we treat people who are suffering"? What? Doctors are handing out pills left and right. My uncle went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and found that he has a torn meniscus. In talking to him, he told me he had been really sick and feeling very ill. I asked what type pain medicine he was on and the doctor had prescribed Oxyconin! He was having more issues over the sickness from the pain meds than from the damn torn meniscus! I scheduled his next appointment and went with him. Needless to say, the doctor got his ears full.

Are you saying that everyone who seeks help for pain relief is actually abusing pain medications?

I give people the benefit of the doubt--believing that they sincerely need help to relieve pain. There are mechanisms in place to catch those who are abusing the system.

Nevertheless, if a physician firmly believes that someone is gaming the system--trying to get narcotics or other meds to abuse, there are ways to address the problem without screaming at them. For example, the physician should be aware of all area treatment programs. He/she should offer referrals to those agencies and politely (with sincerity and empathy) suggest treatment.

Any contact with someone who is addicted to drugs is an opportunity for education and potentially an entrance into treatment and recovery.

Sorry if you don't like my approach, but it's the way things should be done. Yelling at a patient and telling them to never return isn't helpful for anyone.

I wish there were MORE doctors like the one mentioned above. Maybe we would have less pill heads in Greene County, which would then translate into less crime.

Perhaps this particular doctor did not get a sufficient amount of sleep in between doses of Provigil.

Daily Horoscope for May 17

Gemini

You're in a really great mood and you want everyone to share in it. This means getting together with friends or loved ones, and probably shoving all your worries and concerns to the back of your mind for the time being. It will also involve spending money, and possibly even spending more than you can comfortably afford. Not that you'll care about such things at the moment!
