I try to refrain from quoting our church leaders and prefer the approach of voiceing my own opinions however there are times when yo read thngs sai by our leaders that can not b ignored. Also this addresses your claim of us blindly following our leaders and I could not find any better responce than this one. Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the quorom of the twelve apostles stated "Members who have a testimony and who act upon it under the direction of their church leaders are sometimes acused of blind obedience. Of course we have leaders and of course we are subject to their decisions and directions in the operation of the church and in the performance of needed priesthood ordinaces. But when it comes to knowing and learning the truth of the gospel our peronal testimonies we eac have a direct relationship with God, our eternal father and his son Jesus Christ thruogh the powerful witness of the holy ghost.

continued This is what our critics fail to understand. It puzzles them that we can be united in following our leaders and yet independent in knowing for ourselves"
Dallin H Oaks Also said " We live in a time when some misrepresent the beliefs of those they call mormons and even revile us because of them. When we encounter such misrepresentations we have a duty to speak out to clarify our doctrine and what we believe. We should be the ones to state our beliefs rather than allowing others the final word in misrepresenting them"
You may believe we blindly follow if you wish we know better. And as for myself I will follow the councel that has been given us by this church leader to clarify our beliefs and doctrines.

All at once, I was put back into the world that I'd left behind. During my time in Texas, I saw incredible displays of generosity and unfortunate amounts of pain. I saw FLDS women, holding their heads up high, defiant as officials loaded them onto buses. I saw the FLDS men, cowering behind the scenes, afraid to so much as walk their wives and children to the waiting cars. I saw how the Texas authorities did everything they could to understand the people and their beliefs. But most of all, I saw two sides that were put in an incredibly hard situation. It was my job to try a build a bridge between those two sides, to provide everyone working on this investigation with knowledge of the culture and the mindset these men and women and children were in http://www.huffingtonpost.com/elissa-wall/war...

But the state, as laid out in the service plans, maintains that the couples and other FLDS parents "have chosen to be members of a community that appears to support systemic abuse of children." And CPS workers have the backing of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who praised them last week for handling the complex case "professionally and compassionately." The plans lay out a year-long process for being reunited with their children, identifying dozens of issues the parents must address. The plans warn that failure to cooperate could result in their children being placed in permanent state custody or put up for adoption http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_9295315

Have you noticed that there are some people who always see the glass half empty...they always see the bad of everything...they only pick up the bad parts of an article but somehow never mention the other side of the story? I wonder if their life is as miserable as the world they describe for everyone else through that dark lens they seem to see everything through.

Jeffs, who became the prophet in 2002 against some members' opposition, has tightened his control in the Short Creek Valley. He forbids members from associating with apostates and has canceled group gatherings, church activities, community dances, holiday celebrations and the hanging of American flags. Members talking to the media risk losing their families and houses to the church. In the past month, Jeffs expelled at least 30 men, stripping them of their priesthood, their wives and children and their rights to live in town. Most of them -- including Colorado City's mayor of 19 years, Dan Barlow -- moved away quietly, as women and children were "reassigned" to other men. http://www.rickross.com/reference/polygamy/po...
