We'll see if WSIL does a story and where it goes. And if it gets enough attention, someone else will hopefully step in. Or maybe with all this, the owners finally build adequate shelter, and provide better conditions for the horses. That's all anyone really wants here. Not sure I want to hold my breath though, since it's been like that for years out there.

Really ur more worried about horses than the people that don't have a warm place to stay........ maybe u will b without a place someday, then ur wish u was the horses. Horses have lived in the wild before people started using them for work. They will survive, thats how they r made, u know with hair to keep them warm...... people on the other hand , need a home n warmth.

Not veterinarians but people with sense who know what an animal who is well taken care of looks like. And several horse owners.. this is an outrage.

I live in that area and have seen them animals often and even in the summer they have no pasture, eaten down to the dirt. I'm not here to bash no one but the animals can't take care of themselves. It takes money and time and if you can't give that to them your not a responsible pet owner. Jane is a little out spoken but someone had to step up I salute you.

I'd like to remind people that this is about neglected horses. Not a personal bashing game. The dept of Ag failed these horses miserably.
To the owners I hope this helps you realize that you have far too many horses for such a small area, and that an area that floods is no safe place for even 1 horse. That you need to clean up the area where your horses are kept so they don't get hurt. That they need to eat more grain, I believe my horses were fed at least 3-4 lbs of grain 2 x a day..and a flake of timothy and they also had a huge pasture...in the winter they always had a round bale. Fresh water at all times not frozen, I know that is hard in the winter, but animals can dehydrate even faster in the winter than summer. It simply has to be done. No ifs, ands or buts. Everyone is watching. Now is the time to prove that you are concerned and care for your own horses. Thin your herd. If you are keeping horses for others tell them you can't do it any longer. It is wrong on every level to force them to live like this.

As I said the state "investigator" failed these horses miserably. That's a crime too. Too lazy to tell the truth. Everybody is watching them now.

You sound like a little bratty kid, "dude"! We are people who are concerned about the welfare of these animals. We are not bitching and moaning we are concerned! Obviously you dont have the sense to know what is right or wrong or to care either! What are you, 2 years old?? Just because the newspaper or even the news said everything is "oK", doesnt mean it is. Hundreds of people have witnessed this and i doubt seriously that we are all wrong!

What the state says and what is true are a world apart. Isn't that right "Dude" ?
