Boom. Most people on here are morons! Ok, we'll live in your little dream world of basing teaching salary on kids performance. Your kid is a dumba$$ because you didn't parent them, make them show respect, or study. You were busy beating your spouse or drinking and doing drugs. And of course allowing to act like complete douche bags in public, just like you. So a teacher has your child from 8-3 five days a week and you expect them to completely educate them and rid them of all the awful habits you taught them. The problem is you and your kid.
So since your kid and his/her friends are a$$holes and don't study or try in school, the teacher isn't paid a competitive salary. Said teacher is a great but your kid and their friends bring down their pay due to them being...well....just like you! So said teacher leaves to teach in a community where the parents and kids care about education. Said teacher makes more money and lives happily ever after with well behaved and educated students. Your school replaces said teacher with another teacher that can't get a job at a decent school.
Moral of the story, if you base teacher salary on student performance the good teachers will leave and only bad teachers will stay or replace the good teachers that left. And the cycle continues forever.
And teachers that teach higher level courses would have better performance because the students actually care. And teachers that are stuck teaching your piece of crap kid get bad ratings and less pay.
This guy speaks the truth.
