I've watched colton be in command of his company and can more than handle his own as a officer. Doesn't get the credit because of his age! And all the young guys learn from him if he wanted to be chief he could...

Colton is a good kid. But he does not have the experience. And I know your department is vol. But you should have minimum qualifications for your officers. When you vote for officers sometimes you do not end up with the best. I would join but I don't do the buddy system. That's why I had to join another towns department.

Bud its a election not a buddy system. "The only man to judge another by age is scared to be out done by youth" I'm sure that if u had the standards u say you would not be worried ab another department... Fact people colton does what the town and department need so if I am needed to do the job I will do what I can to take my department as far as it can go. I have served as a company officer for 3 years never had a problem before it is sad to me that age comes up in the fire service it's that old way of thinking that u have to be pushing 100 to be a chief youth is the backbone of the job I'm not saying put every young guy in charge it's based on what the man or women knows that being said u are not in my company or house so worry ab yourself thank you have a wonderful night.

I would say ur right ask bush fire how many year their current chief was on the department before electec i think we would be shocked plus i know for a fact that his qualifications came after he was chief. It is cut and dry bush is a failing department and according to the members its cause of the chief. buddy system wow mikey is the best fire fighter they have period jim comes in. asst. chief right away funny how that works they if u think thats a lie ask around. lets not get into this for their is no discussion to be had hurst fire trumps bush the chief is to blame.

I have worked at the fire dept. for almost 3 years with Colton Woolsey. He is the hardest worker there no matter what anyone says. He has taught me everything I know and there is still more to learn from him. He is capable of being chief even if he is young. You need youth in a dept. He has taught all of our youth well and makes sure that they know what to do and that they are safe and learning on the job. Colton is a great man and I'll follow him through the gates of hell with a hose in hand - Zach Halstead and David Hacker.

Yes alot i have learned from my dad inside. He has given more to the community than he gets credit for i can say that the class room setting does not work as well as doing what you learn first hand ive done both and let me say you can't throw a book at fire. thats why are jr.s do more and thats why we turn out firefighters not just men with gear on. knowing the day they are called on i can trust them to do the job they were trained to do. as for the better gear are you on that big of a power trip i mean for real get over yourself. and in a brotherhood of firefighters i would put my jr. company against any local company and bet they could hang with them so call me to young what ever you please im gonna take the high road and stand behind my FIREMEN!!! why all of you are concerned ab our methods we are gonna keep putting out fire!!! So why do we have city employees and trucks working on the HCAP building? It's bad enough the city bought the building with tax payer money. And then let's them have it. Maybe they need to sign up as a non profit. Or do they like hiding all the money they raise? How much goes into pocket?

ur facts are so wrong that was a donation by the lions club no money the only money being used is the money hcap raised to redo the inside. i am glad to see a building with history used for good. get ur facts straight cause none of what you have said is true.......

Well that's why I am running for the board. To stop this theft from us. For once the city paid 3000 for the building from the American Legion. Now we are using city trucks and manpower on the city clock. So yes my facts are right. And I will ask to have the state look into this. And as you know I am running unopposed. So we know that the change is coming. Not only for our city employees. The cops will punch a time clock in and out. Just like I will make the rest of our employees. No city vehicles will be taken home. And will not drive them around. Just too much theft. And let's not forget the fire department. I will make sure them kids act right. And we do not have kids trying to run the show.

Ok, so my comment is for the person who has made a big deal of the HCAP building. First of all, as someone who gives my time and whose family gives their time to help OUR community let me just say how wonderful it is for the city to allow us to have access to this building for our events. Second of all, if YOU and YOUR family would help do things in Hurst and not in the other community then perhaps you would know what HCAP truly does with the money we raise. HCAP has nothing to hide and if you would like to know where the money goes, I suggest you come to a meeting and ask. We give money to the fire dept and ambulance when they ask for donations, we buy things to make the town just a little nicer. But most of our money in the past has gone to help kids have a better Christmas, because sometimes as parents we need help in that area. And as far as the city workers helping to work on the HCAP building, your mayor gave the OK for that to happen, if you have an issue with that then go to the board...oh but that's right your running for the board yet your never at a meeting to see what goes on. And if you think for one tiny moment that when you get elected...yes unfortunately one vote will elect you..that you are gonna go in and change how the city is ran, what the workers do and how the police are you are CRAZY! Because many before you wanted time clocks for workers and cops and all the other crazy ideas you have and many before you FAILED! So again if you would just get more involved in your community and what goes on then perhaps you would know there are other members on that board, not just you!

I agree with Tired of Ignorant People ! To many people in this town want to sit back and complain , get out and make a difference . Form your own group to clean up town , plant flowers , help out your Seniors in town or what ever. Meals on wheels needs people to help deliver meals to the fine Seniors of this town. Just get out do something that makes a difference don't just sit back and complain! This could be a nice town if we had more doers than complainers !
Have a great day , make a difference in someones life today! God Bless!
