I understand the purpose of voting better than you. How would a vote for the party that would do anything to to destroy a president be good for the country? Mitch McConnell said the number on goal of the Republican party was to make Obama a one term President. They refused to pass a budget and raise the debt limit. This degraded our country's credit for no reason other than hatred for the President. How would a vote for the like of Palin, Bachman and Ted Cruz be good for the country? They are idiots. An embarrassment. Morons.

I'm smart enough to realize the GOP isn't the answer, unlike you.

I am with stupid.we do not need people like Cruz. Wow about Hillary, Harry Reid, gov Quinn, Michelle, Durbin, or even Barney frank. These people have made great contributions, unlike Sarah palin who has done so much damage to this country.

I am terribly confused in regard to mr. Stupid's logic. He stated that republicans are not the answer. 12 years of blago and. Quinn and we rank dead last in every category. Just last week I saw a poll where asked 1 of 4 would move only if they had a chance. 1500 small business moved to wis. Ind. and texas in the last few years. If I am not mistaken those states are republican. Perhaps a jim Edgar type might be the answer.

For the benefit of Malcolm, I read just yesterday where Chris Matthews was saying Cruz was brilliant.

The mess this state's in is a bi-partisan mess, and blaming one party is disingenuous. George Ryan, a Republican, was the one who first started under-funding pensions and using the money elsewhere. He is also responsible for the massive 'Build Illinois' program, funded by 'chicken today, feathers tomorrow' bonds. Blagoevich continued this fiscal irresponsibility, with the help of Speaker Madigan, Sen. Emil Washington, Sen. Cullerton, et al .

Gov. Quinn inherited a godawful mess, and the Legislature has steadfastly refused to do anything substantive to address the State's multiple problems, even when Quinn has tried to get them to do so. Quinn is very much in the position of the guy who follows the big parade with a wheeled trash can, broom and shovel cleaning up the horse manure left behind. He didn't create the mess, and the Legislature is to blame for opposing his attempts to do so. To think that a Republican would or could do any better is pure fantasy.

I agree 12 years is not long enough. Give them 12 more and so on.when are they ever going to take some responsibility. It is always not me it is the man behind the tree. Absolute o leadership ability. Always a victim.these people cannot be helped. You are wasting your time.

Who do they blame for Franklin county? It could not be the republicans .it has to be Abe Lincoln.

Well, everyone failed to convince me that politicians actually care. I see a lot of commentators that obviously care, but everyone is so divided that it's repulsive, embarrassing and disgusting to the point of never voting again. It's The Good Ol' Days vs A Better Tomorrow and I don't want to be around for either one.

Most will agree that most politicians are concerned about being elected again and again, but perhaps we might find one that does not fit that mold. 12 years illinois, 6years on a national scene. A lifetime in Franklin county, it does take much thought to realize the obvious.
