Lindsay, shut up. No one liked you in high school and no one likes you now. You were probably the one that snitched on everybody on the senior class trip.

So the rules are:

1. Lindsay can say anything she wants.(not bullying)
2. If someone says something Lindsay doesn't like = Bullying.

Unfortunately, this is illustrative of most parents' view of bullying at Sesser.

I Wasn't Even On The Class Trip. Dumb Ass. But Maybe You Shouldn't Be Doing Drugs In A School Bus Like An Idiot. And That's Ok, I Wasn't Very Fond Of Many Of You Either. I Preferred The Christopher Kids.

Who else had even engaged you in the thread?
You said, "That's exactly what I'm saying," in direct reply.
If you're going to haphazardly toss the accusation of bullying around, you better check yourself first.

I Was Saying That Kelly Joe Was Bullying Because Of His Earlier Comments To A Grade School Child. Honestly I Don't Care What You Think Of Me, Or Anyone Else For That Matter. I Was Giving My 2 Cents Like Everybody Else On Topix. Maybe You Should Check Yourself For even Being On This Site. I Don't Have All Week Or Whatever To Argue With You. Good Day :)

Then you better start.......oh, no...wait a minute, you can't.
You want to repeat gossip and that's about it. If ANY of this were true, it would have been dealt with like the band teacher was.
If you would just keep your own nose clean and behave yourself, you wouldn't be in trouble all the time and the butt of everyone's jokes.

I attended Sesser Valier from grade 4-9
I was a different kid, I didn't follow the crowd, play sports, do cheer, and I didn't get the best grades. I felt as if I were put in a different place. There were the sports players who got good grades, then there was me. The teachers were nice most of the time, but would make unnecessary comments about some things. The substitute teachers aren't terrible, but they definitely aren't nice. I felt as if there was no effort to educate the students, it only mattered if you were in sports or were getting good grades. I found myself constantly stuck on my homework, I didn't feel motivated, I didn't have a relationship with my teachers. I felt neglected. The bullying is terrible. No matter how many times you go to the staff about it, nothing is ever done about it. The most they will do is say "Stop" and make them apologize. I feel like detentions are given to people for the wrong reasons, and the people who really need them are off the hook. If you were the teachers favorite, you never got a detention. I asked for extra credit so I could get my grades up, none was given to me. I was offered a tutor, which helped. But why can't the teachers do their job (teaching of course) they have to have another student teach me what they should be? Terrible. I moved away from Sesser and returned about a year later. I asked my mom if I would be going back to SV, she said no and I'm doing online classes now. I took the drivers ed class, but that was it. Mr. Basso would use OUR driving time for him to run errands and talk to people. He had me drive him to benton, he wasted 15-20 minutes of my driving time talking to his friend while I was parked outside. Point is, my experience as an outcast was NOT fun at all. But if you're a sports person with brains, you'll have a great time. Just don't bother asking for any educational help or advice. One positive thing I can say about SV is that the teachers give very good advice. If you're struggling with problems at home, they will talk to you about it. The school counselor is awesome :)

Student, in my experiences, you get out of public school education what you put into it. I can't imagine going to the staff on multiple occasions about bullying and "nothing being done about it." Ii sounds like an exaggeration. Also, you can't just demand extra credit whenever your grades are low. Many teachers don't believe in it anyway. It's not fair to those who actually keep up with their studies for a lazy student to swoop in at the last second and receive xtra credit to "earn" the same grade that others have worked all semester for. In my experience, the teachers were available for extra help before and after school. There was tutoring at lunch and before school too by high schoolers earning honor society points.
Look, public schools are easy marks to pick on. You can always find something wrong with them, and yes, good athletes and smart people seem to always get the best.....but isn't that the way the real world works too? Life is a competition. Nobody owes you anything.

I attended Sesser Valier from pre- k until high school and I can honestly say that every teacher I had picked favorites most of the time based off of last names. Grade school wasn't as bad as 5th grade or junior high. The worst teacher I faced in junior high was Mr. Haley. I felt like I wasn't as important as the pretty girls that were cheerleaders or the guys that played baseball and kids like myself got pushed to the side.
You are right! I also went 2 sesser from prek-high school and teachers do pick favorites based off last name. If you are not a "jock" or have the right last name at sesser school you are picked on or left out because your not one of the favorites. There was differnt teachers and Principles when I went there but it sounds like its still the same ol BS School! I wouldn't dare send my dog 2 learn at that school let alone my child!

Best comment thus far. People when they send there kids to school think that it is totally up to the teachers. While your butt is sitting on a barstool, your kid is running around not doing homework. You people then gripe and complain that lil Billy or Suzy is poorly treated.

Yes, because you know, we get paid more for taking care of those "last names." Lol.
The first thing I do each year is check my class roster for those cool last names......oh and athletes. I make them all run a race and the fastest ones get all the breaks from me. Love me some athletes. Gotta keep those non-athletic kids down in their place.....:/

Gross generalization is just a sign of ignorance. If I taught at Sesser right now, I know I would be teaching kids who I know their parents, aunts, uncles, even grandparents and yes their "last name" is going to give me that clue, along with their looks and just plain common sense. It's a small town, everyone knows or knows of everyone. The bottom line is, you get out of something what you put into it. School, job, sport, parenting, etc. it's life. Stop the cycle and don't school the next generation (your kids) on how you think things are. Encourage them to go in, do their best and yes, sometimes they're not going to be called on, picked or even talked to, but that's life. You get up and do it again tomorrow.
P.S. "SUM1" needs to teach "baby" how to spell. Maybe if you hadn't spent your time carrying around that mega bolder of a chip on your shoulder, you might have learned something.

Screw sesser school its a joke. Since i have been out of there i have heard of a kid who tried to commit suicide from being bullied and then finally suceeded. This generation is so screwed everyone needs to stop judging people you know nothing about. Its not whats on the outside its whats on the inside and if your bulling people your just an ugly person even if you arnt on the outside.
