I would just look like to remind the coaches that the team is a team. Play players where their more useful and not cause thats where the kid wants to play. Coaches need to remember your kids aint the coach and there ate others there bleeding for you. Show them Equal Ops. Or you may not have a team.

First of all Coach Beery does not get on topix because it's just a site that people get onto to rip on other people. Secondly, it's obvious you are a parent of a current player. You need to just meet with him after practice and talk to him about your concerns, he is the fairest coach I've ever played for.

Coach Beery knows what he is doing, let him do his job.

You obviously don't know much about football since you thought we were 3-8 last year. FYI we have a nine game season and these coaches know who should be playing. They don't pick favorites

So you're qualified to judge who should be playing and where? Do you attend most of the practices and workouts? Do you have intricate knowledge of Beery's system and its philosophy? Wow! We have some knowledgeable parents!

Coach beery is a awesome coach. He has great plans and fundamentals. Don't be doggin on any of our players. We are a family if your kid don't play owe well that means coach didn't see he had what it takes and didn't want to see him hurt

Volunteering while WF had good teams doesn't make you qualified. You can't put together a coherent sentence, so I doubt you're qualified to make head coaching decisions.

First let me explain. I was head coach. Second it wasnt WF either. Dont flatter yourself WF hasnt had no championships in football for along time if any at all. Third I didnt say anything negetive about the kids or the coach. And your right you cant have a 3-8 record cause you got to win 7 to get to play-offs. I hope they do. I apologise if you guys thought i was trying to disredpect anyone. Now if yoi want to continue running my child down and me. Lets do it. I will eventually
name the right one thats yours.

5 wins makes you playoff eligible and 6 wins qualifies you for the playoffs.

Unless the rule has changed and I am unaware of the change, it is possible for a team to make the playoffs with 4 wins. That is based on the fact that if they win there conference championship. It is very rare. It has happened only twice in the past 5 years. Chicago Morgan Park in 2011, and Carlinville in 2008.

We're talking about HIGH SCHOOL football here, not junior pro.
There is no way you were a head coach on the high school level. And yes, by suggesting that the coaches aren't playing kids in the proper positions, you're "disrespecting" them.
So, you want to talk football, let's do it. Do you even understand the Redbirds' system?

No idiot, I made a suggestion. And obviously their system doesnt work. I went to college on a scholarship playing football.

Ah, getting frustrated and name calling now, huh?
First of all, Einstein, hopping on topix and mouthing is not "making a suggestion"
I guess you're unaware that his system has yielded several playoff teams including an undefeated squad in 2010. The Redbirds' talent level has been down the last 4 or 5 years. That is the reason for the slip, not anyone's system.
First, you felt qualified to criticize because you were a little league "head coach," now you claim being offered a scholarship qualifies you as a football genius?? You are laugh out loud funny!

No read again Idiot. I went to college on a scholarship. And his undefeated record was season not playoffs. And by no means was it the redbirds. So you might want to ask around some more and make sure your research is accurate.

Evidently, you're the one that can't read. I said his SYSTEM yielded the results, never said anything about where.
No need to ask around......I have an extensive background in high school football, unlike you, who has no idea what it takes to qualify for post season or even how many games a team plays in a year.

You are WOEFULLY overmatched here, but if you wish to continue......let's talk some football. Analyze what is wrong with Beery's system and reveal what you would do to improve upon it.....outside of playing 11 games in the regular season. Lol.

Once in the stands it was fun to watch the teams. I was impressed with the number of players. To few players has been a concern for the past several years. It also appears that there will be more passing than in seasons past. No more option plays ending with a run and pass only plays when they have more than 5 yards to a first down. Size on the line is worrisome. The Birds might be a bit small for some contests.

As far as the team goes, I am excited for their season. They should be building on the last couple years in positive ways. Might not translate to wins on the field but they will be more competitive and rounded than they have been.
