I went to the city council meeting tonight. Found out that the city was given the old nursing home 2 years ago. The city got a bill on it for $65,000.00 back-taxes in the mail this week. Well, that is just one of things that was kept from the public! Also, both bathrooms at city hall are being renovated and they (during ex-mayors term) didn't take bids on that either. Jason made a great opening statement at the beginning of the meeting. Also very proud of Dana Laur and Teresa Stacy. Great job girls! Now, they all just need to move forward and work together to help our city grow.

Having an audit on city finances is the law. There have been other communities that have avoided an audit, Buckner just to name one close. And you seen what came of that. An auditing firm doesnt say whether someone is guilty or not, it will however show in detail how much money came in and where it went to. Obviously, if you have been skimming off the top the last thing you would want is an audit that everyone in town has a right to view. The audit must be passed by city council and make the citizens aware of the findings. Under the Freedom of Information Act, anyone has the right to review the documents or even get a copy of the audit, worst case pay a minimal fee. Have an audit done and then you will know if Ex=Mayor Mitchell is guilty of a crime or not. I think the absence of an audit for several years speaks volumes!
Let's see, look back to August 2 2011 in the Opera house cafe forum. It was posted that when audits are done and then the council approves it, there is nothing anyone can do to go after whoever did the misdeeds. Looks like this is now coming true. And you were all warned, Ned was smart. He made sure to involve the council so he can't take the fall for all the misplaced, misused or mismanaged money. And most all the council didn't have a clue they were helping him do what he wanted with the Cities money. It's just a fact. I heard you will find some clues if you check into some of the Tiff money transactions concerning how the money was spent, and how he ended up owning some of these properties and then sold them before anyone knew. One was to a council persons family member. Again, So I heard...

By the way would you rather have your money going to people who don't live in sesser spend their money in sesser hire people from sesser. Keeping the money in sesser. Talk about new mayor are you talking about Kevin oh I mean Jason. new day new $hit. You don't know that outside forces are involved in this election,

Thats right,he said is was going to be a 24/7 mayor. If you can't stand the heat should have stayed out of the kitchen. Now Ned was a 24/7 mayor and THAT WAS A FACT! Where you from if you don't like it here, you can move and still get a link card and rent a place close enough to walk to your local dive because you don't have a drivers lic. Bye Bye.

You call yourself Conservative and yet you back the ex-mayor up for all of the no-bidding contracts that he pushed? WOW, HOW IRONIC! Conserving is trying to save money, NOT spending it however you want and getting the city deep in debt!

You don't have a clue how government works,I don't know how many council meetings you go to. But like most cry babies on here very few have the guts to ask the former mayor what gives, bet you would be surprised what answer you would get. But most bit*h and won't ask.You all act like we are in debt like detroit.
And by the way conservative is just something I pulled out of the air. Im an independant.
