He was never fired! He is back as chief! He is under contract and Ashmore or his clan cant do anything about it. I think its funny that our new mayor is already sliding on his promises.

rob was not reappointed as chief. carroll kelley, jim kelley, keith kramer and bob woll tried to get him reappointed. the mayor is the only one that has the authority to appoint or reappoint the police chief. rob may have to be kept on as a patrolman but i dont see that lasting very long

Better recheck your facts I know for a fact he is still chief, Like I said he is still under contract and breaking it is not the right move for the towns sake!

U people that think ned was the wizard r nuts. The town has sucked for the last 10 years. Nobody would come thru town. And u can say if ur drunk u deserve it but they were crooked. They could and would throw stuff in ur car. Know this for a fact. Let's sesser grow. Its been stale forever. Ned parking his king golfcart on sidewalks. He will go to jail.

Is it fair that Sesser residents have to pay for all the court costs in tax dollars because our mayor wants to break a contract and now the city is going to be sued......bad decision in my opinion. Hes already complaing how residents wont quit calling him. Hello its part of the job if you dont like it step down.

is it fair that the citizens of sesser is paying 34,100 a year for mowing because ned just gave it to the son in law of a council member when there are other qualified people that was willing to do it for several thousand less?

Hey bullet, all city records are available and open to the public. There has NEVER been a contract for the chief of police and there will not be one in the foreseen future. FACT! Go check for yourself and quit acting like a know it all. Over 60% of the voters voted for JASON ASHMORE, because they were sick and tired of the crap that the ex- mayor and police chief got away with. People like you just won't except change. Looks like the ex-mayor can't bow out gracefully, although he claims that he has no hard feelings. The old cheerleader needs to let the city move forward WITHOUT his unwanted and un-needed dictatorship! For example, he STILL parks his golfcart on the sidewalks and THAT is against the law. Will he ever get in trouble for that?

By the way bullet, since you know so much about city business and Jason as mayor, what promises are you referring to that he is sliding on. Just curious.

Lol. Sounds like people are starting to realize that ashmore was elected mayor, not anointed as king.

the police chief is an appointed position...as for the board wanting him re appointed, the mayor can appoint whomever he wishes to the position even if the board is against it ....he can appoint a temporary chief for a term of 3 90 day appointments. Regardless if the board approves it or not, so whoever is blowing smoke up your asses that there is a contract is full of it, the contract would be null and void as soon as a new mayor was appointed, the mayor then had to of signed it, therefore the new mayor would not have to honor it. Have a nice day

I can assure you, he will be cited if the right person gets in there as chief ;)

What is this I heard about Ned being appointed by the board as city clerk, where he still has control of the city's finances?

I say audit, regardless of the cost. That is the only way the city of Sesser will know where it stands. They say it cost $10,000 a year to have the city audited, and they are 7 years behind. Wth.

A special meeting of the City Council in Sesser will be held this Wednesday night, May 15th at 7:00 PM. I hope that a bunch of Jason's supporters will be there to help back him. Just a bunch of old stubborn sore losers trying to push him around. Guess who is putting them up to it? Not hard to figure it out! There is no telling what will happen. I pray that the media will be there.
