I am absolutely in favor of the consolidation!! My experiences lie within the ZR school district. While there are many good teachers that work there, there are also some that have long expired their usefulness. Competition for the educational positions will end a lot of the "family traditions" that currently go on and hopefully will bring the best and the brightest of teachers to the forefront. Our children are exiting that school with such a lack of preparedness for life. First, I believe that life lesson begins at home. However, it is a fact that not all kids go on to college and I feel that if they were offered vocational skills then they would have at least some foundation that they could begin building their life on. It sickens me to see the property taxes that we currently pay to this school and the teachers salaries that are being paid, yet kids are still graduating from there unprepared for college or life thereafter. As for the funding for the school, I look at it as our tax dollars being invested in our children.

I have slowly come around to the idea of consolidation. It might benefit the kids in many of our small towns. I dont know if it will help prepare kids for college, if they even go, or life, because that comes with learning and experience. I do hope that there are more sports and educational academics for the kids. I think that might be exciting for all the area kids and will keep them busy instead of having too much time on their hands to get into trouble. There are already other small towns consolidating with success. Other than the taxes, it would be neat to see Christopher/ZR/Mulkeytown/Coel lo and Buckner get a nice school like Carterville got. Have you seen that school...real nice.

Zeigler wants all the perks Christopher has to offer, but they dont want to give. I mean what else is there left after you spend all your money on clothes, accessories, cars, houses, surely an education is much more important than how you look. What do you really have if you can only afford name brand clothes and cars, but no money for your taxes or education. Seems you forgot that you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. What is going to be left for little tommy or suzy, as long as they are wearing holister, then they must be okay. You have denied your children a better school, education and future, you can afford holister and nike, yet you cant pay your property taxes....maybe you should get your priorities straight.

You better hope they go to college and are able to support themselves in the real world. Because I can assure you, you will be paying for their spoiled behavior for the rest of your life. Retirement will be out of the question for you, hope you live to be a hundred years old and strong as an ox. You're going to need to work for atleast another 65 years to keep up your fake lifestyle and supporting the kids and grandkids so they can enjoy holister and nike for another century... off your paycheck of course because there aint nothing in Franklin County, especially in your small towns.
