I would like info and/or opinions about the Elks Club in W. F. I'm new in town and a member in my previous state. Looking for a decent place to socialize. Comments ????

I am an older retired gentleman and have only been here a few days, I do not have any co-workers and have not been greeted by any of my neighbors as yet. I am just looking for a place to spend some time as I do not know anyone here, I saw the sign and decided to try to get some input since I am still a member at my previuos home town.. Sorry if I offended anyone.

New Comer, the Elks club and the Moose club are both nice places for older or should I say grown up folks, I am a member at both clubs, but I would say I am a little more comfortable at the Moose, but don't feel bad about offending anyone on here as it is mostly idiots who just want to stir crap! I hope to see you at one of the establishments, and don't judge everyone in West Frankfort, by the comments of a few on this site! Welcome!

The Elks here in WF does wonderful charitable events for local students and residents...If you're looking for a place to hang out once a week or so and enjoy good food and a laid back atmosphere, that's not run over with all the recent 20 somethings that can now drink legally, then this is a good place to start...Friendly, and yes, in the front of the building, as oppose to every other bar/club in town that you can smoke anywhere, there is smoking allowed.

You are probably one of their members which is why they have very few active members and have the most boring place in W.F. JOIN THE MOOSE NEW COMER. Avoid the trash !!!!

Why is a club that supports newly graduated students, and tries to do fundraisers for various charities "trash"?? It's not a rave, so unless you're looking for such, I guess you could label that "boring"..Not everyone is looking for a party on a Monday night, or a Thursday night..Why try to bring down something that supports our own here in town? You're words are "trash"...

I don't know how they stay in business, there is never a crowd. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. To me it is a joke with typically a few old daily drunks.

I agree with old member, the moose is a much better place to sit and have a few beers. the moose has a different crowd of people. I think its more of a social establishment rather than a bunch of drunks. The moose also has wing night and do bbqs. They put on events for the community that are family friendly. You can also visit a fee times for free todecide if you want to be a member.

I'm a member of the Elks New Comer and we'd love to see you there! They do do a lot of fund raising, and have Fish every Friday...they also have breakfast the 3rd Saturday of every month. As far as it being full of drunks, every time I am there, it doesn't really seem like there is anyone there. They are very inconsistent with their hours, but the people are very friendly.
I would really like to join the Moose, but I don't know anyone there and actually the last time I was there was when they were across from the railroad track.

The moose is a much cleaner place to enjoy yourself. Not loud, no hooligans
