Here's a synopsis of the rebuke to Darrell Gilyard and the resulting ramifications from 14 years ago when Darrell Gilyard first came to Jacksonville.

In April, 1993, I prayerfully confronted Darrell Gilyard at Shiloh's old auditorium, after having studied the pre-1993 facts carefully. I told him that he was Biblically disqualified from the Pastorate due to various improprieties with women out west -- see I Timothy 3:1-8 relative to the Pastor's qualifications. In that short meeting, he literally ran through the auditorium to get away from the rebukes. I sent a follow-up letter to Darrell Gilyard outlining the reasons for disqualification. Within a week, two of his Deacons asked to meet with me, both of whom proved that they, too, were disqualified from office. Deacon Herman Sykes told me that I was nuts and Deacon Copeland said, "We don't care what he's done, as long as he wins souls". Both Deacons subsequently filed an unjust complaint against me with the State Attorney's office because of my tenacious rebuke of Gilyard's evils.

The Lord Jesus gave me victory at the SA (state attorney) mediation. The mediator asked both Deacons whether they had reviewed the documentation I had relative to Gilyard's pre-1993 improprieties; both said "no", as you can confirm from the SA file. The mediator then gave both deacons copies of the documentation and insisted that they take it home for review. Before concluding the meeting, the mediator only asked that I stop preaching about Gilyard's pre-1993 evils on WCGL radio. I had already begun to rebuke the director of that station (Pastor Ralph Jennings) who interrupted one of my paid broadcasts on the Gilyard subject with an unjust censure and unscriptural letter to me for my rebukes of Gilyard. By God's grace, I simply did my job as a local pastor (then and now) to help warn and protect the people of God, even at great personal risk and in the face of willful ignorance on the part of the aforementioned deacons. Although Shiloh's Deacons and Darrell Gilyard could perhaps be facing civil and criminal litigation, I do have a clear conscience in knowing that I obeyed The Lord Christ while doing my best to prevent further harm upon Shiloh and upon other innocent women by Darrell Gilyard.

In essence, the deacons made a terrible error in 1993 in terms of hiring Darrell Gilyard. Nevertherless, we at Mt. Charity remain prayerful for their repentance in accordance with II Corinthians 7:9-11. We pray that they'll come clean through Christ's blood and begin rebuking evil men who commit horrific crimes against heaven and humanity, rather than trying to cover the sin of those responsible for such heinous offenses.

I understand that every one is entitled to their own opinion, however I think that "he who is with sin cast the first stone" In the case of Darrell Gilyard I can only speak for me as a Christian. While under his leadership at the Shiloh Met Baptist Church he helped me change my life aroung through the preaching of God's word. He expositorily preached, "what thus says the Lord" and your you to say he's not saved is unheard of. Who are you to past judgement?

I am without sin and would be happy to cast a few stones at this pedophile. I'll even supply the rocks.

Thats nice. You know, there are murderers on death row that write childrens books. This man is a pedophie and womanizer. Your church enabled this repeat offender to keep on doing what he was thrown out of other churches for doing. Any "good" you think he has done has been at the cost that even Jesus woudl not accept.

I am a man who follows both God's law and man's law. I can not pass divine judgement on this sorry sack of bio-mass, but I can certainly pass human judgement on him, and I find him to be beneath the definition of both man and human being. He should be expelled from our civilized society to live amongst the other animals in the wilderness.

Unfortunately, there will never be another prolific, scholarly, orator on the level of Rev. Darrell Gilyard to hit Shiloh Baptist Church (or Jacksonville for that matter). Rev. Gilyard was more than just a pastor. His lectures were well planned, thought out and executed from subject series and all of his sermons were set up as outline syllabi (you do not need to seek counsel for personal issues once you get into his lectures). I was just listening to the "Inaugrational Series" back in May, 2002 when the new building was dedicated and I began to think back to that beautiful time and cried). I am still holding out hope that all of this is a mistake and all can get back to normal, HOWEVER, Again, there will never be another pastor in THIS city on the level of Rev. Darrell Gilyard, Sr.
Take care, God Bless and pray for this family.

i hope and pray there is never another "pator" like gilyard at any church...who would want a sexual predator and deviant leading their church? he has been up to this for 2 decades and has always gotten away with it..until now...btw..new charges of molestation have just been filed against him in regards to a second child.

OK Scott, you and I are totally together on this one.

This "man of god" is no man at all, and cetainly not from god. He may have given you good lip service about your soul, but his actions are strictly evil.

Iris, you need to thank God that he was caught before he did any more damage. Pray that the state can put him away for life.

Persoanlly, I would love to take care of his condition. Scott's Am Staff and my two with the rottie mix, and some nice hamburger meat down his pants would do the trick nicely. Scott, what do you think?

What Up Iris???

No response, just going to come in, post some crap about your beloved Pastor and not answer anyone else. If he is so great, defend his sorry azz. I hope he enjoys his azz getting attention, coz they will make sure he say , "oh God" alot when he gets to prison.

Also, for the group, how about that teacher down south of here messing with that 14 yo boy??? Why does she get the same as this fool gets?

If Darrell is guilty of those crimes, I pray for everyone involved that God will touch them n heal their spirits. I am more in line with Jesus. It is understood that the acts that were possible to have happened are horrible acts, I, like Jesus, do not condemn Darrell. I pray that Darrell repents and begins the rebuilding process of his soul.

The situation saddened me, but it is not a death sentence to anyone involved. To Darrell, if the allegations are true, "Go and sin no more".

Thanks

Remember, Satan could speak well and was very knowledgeable of God's words. Be ware of evil doers! Stop with the religious rhetoric, this man broke the law and his cohorts (the deacons who covered it up should have been charged as accessories). As a Black woman, I am outraged that my own people disavow blatant sexualized attacks on woman and children and then try to justify it with religious dogma. Get off of it, this man is a evil and "unrepentant" serpent, and I am sick of the hypocrisy from these Christian supporters, it makes me sick. If Gilyard is to be forgiven so much, then leave in the house alone with your child and/or your wife. Let's see it.
