Owner operators remember these contractors have to pay you AT LEAST $22.34 per hour to sit in YOUR OWN TRUCK, plus $30 per hour at any late slip you receive, PLUS pay for your maintenance, tires ad upkeep.Most just try to get away with paying you .50 cents a mile and furnish oyur fuel.Keep this in mind when talking to hese people

i dont know where you got your info from but check again and then once more, mccormick drivers as well as all drivers in the same field make $18.99hr plus $4.59hr bonus, mccormick takes the $4.59hr bonus and either puts its towards insurance and the rest in 401k or if the driver has their on ins, they put the full amount into 401k, all mail contractors do the same thing except J. Wayne Inc they allow the driver to receive both. and if you wanna talk about unsafe jwaynes equipment that run from mobile al to birmingham al are the worst on the road they buy wore out trucks from other companies and have no maintenance plan in place, all the trucks look like they should be sitting in the junkyard and from inside info from some of the drivers they are told "if you do not like the equipment, you can find another job" even though the USPS requires all contract companies to update their equipment every five years, and all the jwayne trucks i have done research on are 19+ years old and have at least 1.5 million mileson them and would never pass a DOT inspection, but are never stopped and checked.
so if you want the roads you travel to be safe, Aabama DOT and the USPS need to be petitioned to force jwayne to update their equipment, and make sure the USPS forces jwayne to keep to the requirements that they agreed to in the contract

i am contractor working now i get 68 cents a mile plus fuel aprox 120 a mile with truck getting 6 miles to gallon a few yrs ago thing were not as good u had contractors paying less than they should have now the way it is set up u have to send a copy of check u write employee i have 4 employees they get postal pay always have if something wrong with trailer it gets fixed right away the insurance deal like this if u prove u have insurance u donot have to take their insurance they put all of money in a 401 plan i know this to b true because i drawed mine out when i started contract my 2 routes have teams and r legal because they would not let me run any other way all i am saying is that thing r running legal on routes i am familiar with but i donot know rvery route just saying u need to get all facts i can prove mine thing do change by the way i do know the man tht wrecked 3 miles from atlanta yard autopsy said he had a heart attack just saying

i see that everyone is concerned with the pay which is an issue, but what about the safety of those out there on the roads when these trucks are running with non licensed drivers and to my understanding anyone in the truck with a trailer full of mail must have a postal badge which these drivers do not. they run with two drivers one that is legal and one that is not so that way when they run through scales and get to post office the legal one takes over, but when they are out on the road the illegal one is driving some without even having experience. this was told to McCormick and nothing is being done about it. non of these contacts are any good as far as reporting so who knows how to stop this. the legal driver makes it look like they dropped off the other driver by running dummy logs keeping the ones not in use in a brief case apparently when they are pulled in scales or what not they only have to show the current log book in use

As i read some of these comments. Some are so unbelieveable!!
I have worked for the company going on 10years. They have always paid me what and when i had coming to me!! I have drove for other companies that have alot to complain about.
If ones want to work and do whats asked there wouldnt be time to complain. When ones agree to do something dont come back and complain afterwards!! Lord Bless and in our Prayers!!!

we are not talking about j wayne. we are talking about mccormick,the FBI came in and seized their records and are currently under investigation,also drivers found with prescription pills in truck not prescribed to them.

I see a new owner operator hauling from the north metro facility.Has an old freight liner that no way would pass a D.O.T. inspection.Slick tires, head light out, no badge, no lock on door, and children in the truck.I guess the entire family comes along and gets to go to memphis.

I have an ex husband that works there he is suppose to pay child support and right now he us a registered sex offender. This company has been asked to take support out of his check and still has been avoiding the issue and the child support office can not find him as being employed anywhere but I know he works there bc that's the name on his truck can someone please just tell me what says do they get paid us or can they do payroll under the table and that's why they can't find him working. Please need a response soon so me and the courts can get him.

I don't know what he hauls or really care but he works in McMinnville I just want the support for my child. Does it surprise you of what he is and able to work there look at what this company does now doesn't surprise me but I'm glad he works and not lazy living off the government like he can but just needs to step up and take care of his
