' The first defense witness at the child-abuse trial for Raye Dawn Smith said Monday the mother wanted an autopsy to find out why her 2-year-old daughter died in 2005, but her new husband opposed it. via NewsOK.com

When I read about what happen to the little girl I started to cry. I have a 13 month old little boy I couldnt even image hurting him or letting anyone else ever hurt him. It is so awful what they did to her.

I got a memory of her on my myspace from another friend. I also have 3 children 5,7and 8 years old. I could never imagine doing that too my children or letting anyone else hurt them. She was an innocent child that didn't ask for any of this my heart goes out to the grandparents and the father of this little girl!!!!

when I first heard of this baby it touch my heart in such a pain just to know that after the sign of abuse they gave this lil girl back to the so call mother!! my question is WHY!!! she was fine with the grandmother. i am grandmother of three beautiful babies and so help me god if i were to see any sign of a buse i will NOT GIVE UP TILL I GOT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ABUSE my deepest prayers go to the father and grandmother of this lil angel!!!

When I received the video on remembering Kelsey all I could do was cry. She looked exactly like my daughter who is about the same age. I could not imagine what her family and friends must be going through. My prayers go out to all of you.
As a Mother I could not understand WHY she would allow this to happen Raye Dawn Smith did not protect her daughter and for the rest of her life she will have to live with the fact that her baby is gone because she did nothing to help her.

I can't believe after all that little girl went through and the judgeknowing what was happening would allow her back into that home. I do hope that Judge is no longer serving as one. This is one mistake he made that can't be fixed. It just goes to show you how poor the system really is. I have a 5yr old boy and I could never imagine ever hurting him or ever letting anyone else hurt him! Everytime I think of that little girl I feel so sick inside. So innocent and fragile she was. My heart goes out to the Grandparents and Father. How could a mother ever let this happen to their child is beyond me !

The Mother is dispictable. She sees herself as the victim. The only tragedy in this case is that the mother did not get the dealh penalty..she should have.

This horrible story really touched me. And my heart goes out to the Briggs family. I think people who impose harm or even kill little children should be put to death. What a horrible, terrible tragedy. I cried so hard when I first heard about this. What a beautiful girl she was. And I hope Raye Dawn and Michael Porter rot for their despicable act of violence to a poor, innocent child.

I cant believe how Raye couldnt defend her little girl knowing how bad she was being hurt. How can you possibly hurt such an innocent baby. Raye obviosly didnt care about her little girl. This is soo sad when i first saw the video about her"Remembering Kelsey Brigg" I Freakin cried my eyes out!!! She's soo innocent she was just a little girl...she reminds me of my little cousin seanna...seanna is a year younger but the resembalence is really close..the both have blonde hair they both have the same colour of eyes and everytime i look at my cousin now it's like im about to cry...because she looks so much like Kelsey and i couldn't imangene hurting her.....so to her parents...well mother and step-father...i hope they rott in HELL!!! yeah? it's clear enough - a little girl is dead and her mother did nothing to help STOP IT. I would feel for her mother if she murdered Michael Porter. doing nothing about this kind of abuse deserves the death penalty, not 27 or 30 yeears in prison. you'll always be in my heart, kelsey.

I am a father of two little girls and i am serving in Iraq on my second tour. My heart and prayers as well as everyone else's should go out to the father. I agree for keeping Michael Porter and Kelsey's mother in prison for as long physically possible.
