i hope that when Randall Truette retires from EMS that the WCBOCC will take a long hard look at a new director and not Randall son Randy. The lack of leadership that he offers is not a confidence booster and the way he put his friends around him so they cover for him should tell the commissioners
he is not the man for the job!!

Why not advertise the position ?Does everything in WC must be family business and be appointed?

covers for him for what? what does he need someone to cover for him for? He is a hard worker and has done his time. I see no reason for him to move into the slot if his dad retires.

Look up the old story about Mr. Ford. His family wanted him removed from the "CEO" position because he did not know all the answers to the production business. Whent the Judge asked him questions he did not know everything, however, he told the Judge to give him a few minutes and he would have the answers. The Judge asked him how he could do this and Mr. Ford responded he surrounds himself with competent people that know all the answers to the various production areas. WEMS employees are the best in the area and the department is the one that all others want to work. How can you question his leadership skills or EMT skills just because his dad is the Boss or they have competent staff! He grew up in the business and knows it inside and out.

If state and federal agents would actually organize "surprise" zero tolerance piss tests for alcohol and drugs along with background checks of associates then you wouldn't have to worry about that.

Local enforcement well everybody has went to school with everybody and it is a small town and no one wants to make waves.

Ok, I will take the bait and ask. What specifically are you referring to? What are his friends "covering" for? If he is qualified for the job and has the experience to do it, why should he not be promoted and get the job? The fact that his father has held the job should make no difference. As far as I can tell, WC EMS runs a well qualified and professional ambulance service. The people who work there enjoy the working conditions and get along with their coworkers. It seems if you are going to make that bold statement, you should back it up.

Who are you Deuces Wild? Post your real name. Yeah lets hire someone from outside and end up like other surrounding agencies that brought someone from the outside.... You sound like a disgruntaled employee

I have to agree with the last ems employee that posted. I would love to know who you are but we never will. I would also like to know what supporting evidence you have. Surely a person making such direct, derogatory statement has plenty. If not then i would assume that u are no more than a disgruntaled citizen or employee trying to raise questions in the minds of those who dont know or just trying to ruin a good mans name. I personally know first hand that our Assistant Director is a very competant paramedic and administrator. I personally believe that Washington County EMS is the BEST Emergency Medical Service any where around here and that statement proves itself by our work atmosphere as well as the abundant number of applications we process from EMT's and Paramedics who are firmiliar with the service as well as numerous Pt testimonies. This is also directed to "Three Queens" up there with the statement that suggest our roster consist of drug users and criminals.

Get over yourselves, relatives need to get a grip, that county needs to recruit new blood if and when director retires, it shouldn't go to his son, thats nepotism bs, and if the state gets wind won't fly far as a kite anyway. Deal with it people, nepotism is a crime!

Thats my bad biggin. I could have swore that nepotism would be a family member, gaurdian or spouse having the position of the direct supervisor over you. If director retires how can it be nepotism. I shore thought more of you man.(yeah I figured it out)

if you know something that is putting the health and welfare of the public at risk, you need to step up and tell someone. Are you saying that there are people providing healthcare to the public who are using drugs? If so, speak up. Thats a mighty big accusation to make. Seems to me if you know something is going on and you sit back and say nothing, you might be held liable in some way. Especially if you are, as some say, an employee or ex employee. Its real easy to make accusations and innuendos on the internet behind a screen name. If you are that bold, step out in front and put a stop to this so called drug issue. I, as Joe Public, would love to know if its FACT, dont care about rumors or innuendos especially if you are disgruntled ex employee

this group of caring, intellegent and very professional EMT's have transported me many times to local and out of state hospitals. When my life is on the line THEY are the ones I TRUST WITH IT!!! If anyone had proven themselves capable and trained for a position they have a right to apply for it. What if the family member had been terrible at his job, would you automaticaly say so is he, don't give him a chance. We have plenty of family helping family in washington county, name sometimes runs the game. Let me close with this. I am a retired nurse, and if i need a nurse by my side I HOPE it will be my SISTER she is the BEST and not because of our blood but because of our training. So it should be with EMT's.

OK they are intellegent and professional but the subject was when father retirees his relatives canno't immedietly take his post. That was my understanding.

If they are certified and qualified to do the job what is the problem? If things are running good why bring in a outsider, most of the time that is a bad move.

Because of outsiders WC is moving forword ,because of retirees coming from all over WC has more tax money to improve our lives so don't complain that outsiders are bad ppl. The time when WC was family business is over if you like or not and if the outsiders are qualifiled why not ,what is the problem?Because they are NOT family?

sometimes hiring in the house is not always the best and sometimes it is. It is the qualifications of the person that should be considered first. The Best person for the job, with all things considered, should be the deciding factor. That person may be an insider or outsider. May the best person with the BEST qualifications win..don't be in such hurry to throw away what you know is good just to have someone new.
