New sheriff needed

United States

#41 Oct 16, 2012
Y'all don't know the half if it. It is broke so it needs fixed. Just stop a deputy and ask him your self. Or track someone down that truly knows a deputy personally. It Is broke! Ask about the most recent problem in the department, and how instead of taking care of a problem, it's just put on the back burner so us citizens don't find out how someone can go through the ranks by doing nothing, then have a whole department almost quit. Because how bad things are. Then this person I hear has been off work for a month getting paid and when he returns he will still be getting paid as a sergeant but will be a regular deputy..... SOMETHING NEEDS FIXED

This latest mail out by the sheriff has helped me decide that he will not get my vote. Really sheriff? all you can tell me about yourself is how you stack up against the other guys? Why not spend that money telling me what you want to see done in the office..your vision for our county regarding law enforcement, your goals for the future, etc. All I have seen this election year is you backdoor bashing the other candidates. Please tell me what YOU are going to do to fix our county.

I think the mailout is right on. That's what as voters we all need to do-compare qualifications not let it be a popularity contest. Sheriff Haddock let us know accomplishments and plans for the future in other mailouts. You go Sheriff, you've got my vote. ***not a relative, ***not a fellow church goer, ***not a schoolmate, ***not an employee, just an informed voter of Washington County.

I was a victim of a burglary. The deputy and investigator done a great job in processing the house and gathering information. Within 3 hours, the puzzle was solved and the culprit was in the county jail. A week later I seen the sheriff and he asked if everything went good as far as his staff. Don't tell me he does not know what's going on around there. He has my vote and my familys vote.

I'm all for comparing qualifications so long as they are ACCURATE. The most recent mailout was even more ridiculous than the last where the implication was given that the WCSO had some kind of intricate role in the named drug bust. Ridiculous!

I think the mail out was tacky and furthermore Chris Ellis has a LOT more training than that card indicates; a lot more than Bobby Haddock probably had when he started as sheriff. Bobby keeps making comments about experience and leadership...he didn't have any when he started! We definitely need a change. Yes the kidnapping was solved...everyone else did the work and Bobby stepped in to claim the glory when the cameras rolled. What a leader!

Chris Ellis is one of the most honest, genuine people you will meet. Sheriff Haddock is a fake - he's friendly when someone is around and he needs to look good.

Actually his Investigator Kenny Brock worked 24/7 to find this little baby which he did and I do not remember if any of his staff was recognized for their hard work and Bobby simply walked out when the Press showed up holding the baby as if he had found the little one.

Yes, we do need a change. The general public has no clue of really goes on within the Department and the experience that Chris Ellis has had in Law Enforcement, I am sure he can step in and organize a Department that needs change and improvement to better serve the citizens of Washington County.

If you believe what the mailout says then I guess you also believe Al Gore invented the internet. How about going to a forum? how about fact checking? How about asking one of his employees what they think of him? Wait...that requires effort and intelligence...nevermind

If you pay close attention what is going on during four years you don't need flyers or forums.I read papers, watch local news and already made my decisions.Don't care about being religious, school budy or how his/her kids are doing. Those elected are going to decide what and how to do jobs, not kids or uncles. In my opinion the election time should take 3 weeks no more.

i aiso recieved the mailout comparing canidates and i must say i was shocked to see bobby do such a thing as that. to try and make chris ellis out to be nothing more than an officer in a car, well let me tell you as a law enforcement officer i know that his training an exspirence is more than was listed. i am ashamed to be affiliated with wcso, (bobby haddock) he says he is a man of GOD but to tell the things he has been telling and the things he has done in this election... well GOD is watching

Pettis has stepped up to the plate in this race. He is very professional and has the qualifications to do the job. I have been to more than one forum and heard him speak and I really like what he has to say. This race is going to get interesting.

With all the many mailouts Sheriff Haddock is sending out...wonder why he hasn't claimed any recognition for the Nationally publicized kidnapping case involving Waylon Snipes. Who was abducted by his grandfather Anthony Snipes. This case has yet to stand trial and he will probably never do time for this offense.
