One of the news clips said the driver did stop, but it's still under investigation.

My condolences to the family. May God Bless you all in these hard times.

I don't know what exactly happened but that particular place is so dark and people are always going so fast. It'd be nice to get a stop sign and some more lighting. Just a thought.

DRIVERS: Remember that pedestrians ALWAYS have a "right of way."

And that area on pipeline needs some speed bumps, the speed limit is 40mph but drivers seem to go 50 mph all the time.

No it was not a hit and run. He was crossing the street in the dark with no crosswalk.

PLEASE, if your are a walker, runner or in a wheel chair PLEASE use a light. Honesty, we can't see you when you wear dark clothing and no street lights. Be aware of your own safety. Prayers to this mans family. My heart is breaking because I have a disabled son. PLEASE USE SOME SORT OF LIGHT OR WEAR REFLECTIVE CLOTHING.

This area of the street is so dark and I am not surprised that more people are not hit crossing there.

For gosh sakes, stare down the oncoming vehicles, don't turn your head and look straight, ever.

Where ever oncoming traffic is coming from, your attention should be there, even in light regulated cross walks.

Yes you have to ;ay attention to the road surface, which can be done with glances.

When a pedestrian decides to cross or enter a roadway where there is not a marked crosswalk and where the traffic is not being controlled by signs or lights... then that person has voluntarily put themselves in harms way. And who cares who has the right of way... it doesn't matter when you are dead.

Apparently there is speculation that the man may have been trying to commit suicide. Firefighters had seen the man before he was hit being nearly missed by other cars. The man who hit him is not being charged. They are saying he was not at fault. Still sad for the family who has to deal with the loss
