I just don't get the lack of sidewalks in this whole area in many places. Especially on a street like Haven if there are none there. And Haven is marked as a bike route, but there are no bike lanes, and the speed limit is something like 50 mph. It's nuts. Above Wilson, on that downhill, crazy to not have sidewalks.

Middle of the night, maybe someone was leaving another party somewhere up in that area. It's possible it wasn't a local. Or not. Hopefully we'll find out eventually, though typically people who murder with their vehicles are barely given a slap on the wrist, anyway. Either way, undoubtedly a drunk/high driver.

Come one Daily Bulletin -- make this story headlines and help this family find the killer of their son. Use a picture or two. Surely whoever did this lives around here.

The way people drive above Wilson is pathetic. There is no regards to speed, stop signs or even common courtesy. They drive with their brights and tailgate you. It's dangerous and no one seems to care. It's just a matter of time that something like this happens. My prayers are with the family and hope the beast who did this is caught!

In a previous article the IVDB gave a possible decription of the make, model and color of the vehicle that struck him. Why don't they help out here by providing that information again?

I feel for the family and will never understand how someone could hit someone and leave.
Here is a reminder of the facts of hit and runs by the Police: Driving in the U.S.A
D- Driver impaired (drinking,drugs),drowsy,distra cted.
U-Unlicensed driver or car (such as illegal immigrant),suspended.
S-Self preservation (secret to keep,status to protect,scared),stolen vehicle,street racing.
A-Agressive driving( road rage),amorality,age(youthful immaturity).

Hit and runs are out of control.

ITS a sad story but when they find them they will only charge them hit and run give bail. why dont they charge them with a higher crime.

I knew Matt through my son...Our prayers and condolences go to his family and friends, particularly those at the party. I am afraid those Matt argued with may think this partly their fault. It is not!

You mean Felony hit and run...along with manslaughter. I doubt bail would be granted, as the person has already proved to be a flight risk by fleeing the accident.

The idiots from Haven view Estates drive up and down Haven ave doing 75 mph EVERYDAY. It would not surprise me if the perpetrator lived there.

On a side note, we have the wife's of firefighters with those firefighter stickers plastered on their giant SUV's running stop signs with impunity.

Well.. another couple years gone by and another human being hopefully knowing what they have selfishly taken from my family. So sad how years go by and most but not all people forget what tragically happened. Unfortunelty it happens more than once a day.... this world is ugly and sick. I am thankful that the lord has my baby bro in a place where nothing can ever hurt him and where he does not have to deal with the trials that this flesh world puts in front of us. Once again.. no matter how many years and days go by if you know that you are responsible for my brothers DEATH its never too late 2 man\woman up. Please give our hurting family closure. It hurts so bad to never be able 2 see his smiling face again... Matthews mother will always have an emptiness... a void. SHNAT N KANAZ FOREVER
