Carmelita Avenue is in the City of Chino Hills and in the area known as Los Serranos translated into English means "The Hills". There are no areas in Chino Hills that are unincorporated its all city now.

I moved here recently from Dexter, Maine. We had no Hispanic/Mexicans in our town or any town nearby. As I read the local paper's "Crime and Public Safety" section, all I see is Hispanic people as suspects, victims in all the crimes that I read about. Are they all criminals? Can someone advise me? Should I move back?

dude, this is los serranos. not your typical chino hills type. personally, i wish the city would just bulldoze over this area and wipe it out. los serranos is a thorne to the city of chino hills and unfortunatly, lots of low life fools have moved into that area in recent months.

ANYTHING NEGATIVE that comes from chino hills is within the hell hole called los serranos.

Run and don't look back. This area is the armpit of California. There are wonderful parts of California, but this is not one of them. It offends me that people do not bother to learn English. We not longer live in Southern California, we live in Northern Mexico.

It's simple math, Leprechan. You can bet you lucky charms you'll notice an equal porportion of hispanic names if you scan the local phone book (ironically called white pages) or just scan the demographics from a recent census. The town also has few Lithuanian criminals.

Whites commit just as many crimes. Visit the Megan's Law website and a majority of sex offenders are WHITE. http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/

CHino hills is NOT the armpit of So Cal, and though Los Serranos is the crappy part of town, I'm KNOW its nothing compared to other nearby cities. I can think of MANY, MANY other areas (ENTIRE CITIES) that are worse than Los Serranos! Stop feeling sorry for yourself - Chino Hills is still a nice area

It never ceases to amaze me how people take an opportunity to share racism on a public Newspaper forum. So many of you are extremely immature and your comments so an extreme lack of intelligence and self respect.

lets see if I understand, Leprechan leaves the crime free utopia of Maine in order to relocate to lovely Pomona? I'll assume that common sense and IQ levels drop dramatically whenever one travels west torwards California...
