Tragic. But really, how much could somebody still owe on a 9 year old Buick to have it repo-ed? Hmmm. Does In-Town have a west coast branch?

Tragic, but very shortly the remaining family members will be moving to Hollywood and all will be driving brand new Porsche's! Do the Frankel's have a west coast branch or only in FloridaY?

What a sad way to die. I bet the poor repo guy feels terrible, he was just doing his job though.

How the hell can this be a tragic accident? Not only did the tow truck driver steal the womans vehicle but he murdered her and the stupid pigs aren't going to charge the tow truck driver? I think there needs to be a federal law passed that gives motorist the right to use deadly force to protect their property. They actually have a show on TLC where tow truck drivers kill each other to get to a accident or to get a couple hundred dollars for stealing peoples vehicles. You can tell the tow truck drivers are crooks because a lot of times they try to steal peoples vehicles in the wee hours of the morning.

Yeah well this wasn't the jerks from intown motors, and when you don't make payments on money you owe, then yes, these "jerks" have every right to take it back. Its really simple pay for your car and you get to keep it. Don't pay for your car and you don't get to keep it. Its really simple math.

What would any of you do if you would lend someone a large amount of money and they wouldn't or couldn't pay it back? Think before you answer this. If you still feel the same, then you must have cash to burn.......

Mr. Doe, you really suffer from paranoia. I am glad to see that the institution that you are committed in allows you access to a computer. It seems to broaden your mind.

The man ran over a pedestrian. If I "assume" the old lady in the parking lot has moved away and run her over because I fail to check my mirrors to confirm that she has in fact moved out of the way who is at fault?

Really? So you don't own your home? It's actually owned by the folks who hold the mortgage? Guess you wouldn't mind if the bank decided one day to sell "their" house without telling you? Or if the guy from the finance company decided to take "their" car for a little joy ride? It would be perfectly legal, wouldn't it, because you still owe on the mortgage and the car loan, even though both are current. Like you said, "you don't own something until it is completely paid for."

Here's an idea. Call your mortgage banker. Tell them "their" house needs a new roof. Or maybe just a good cleaning. Let us know how it works out for you.

I'm going to report you to Topix for maligning the police department and fomenting dissent. Waaaahhhhh.

That reminds me of Rachael Corrie when she stepped in front of an armored tank in order to prevent the Jews from bulldozing the home of a Palestinian family which sat on land that the Jews had stolen from them.

I believe what he meant was that it is not yours to keep until it's paid for. The money that was used to pay for the home belonged to the lender. It's a secured loan so therefore they can force sale of the home to get THEIR money back. Most people are at the mercy of lenders or they wouldn't OWN anything.
