No one is required to practice medicine and if providers are not compensated commensurate with their education and training they will choose some other vocation.
And I disagree that a single payer system would cause a dramatic drop in health care availability.
Elective surgery may not be given priority, but I think if you wish for that, you could have a private insurance cover it and a private doctor do it.

And a single payer system does not need lower any pay for doctors.
A single payer system does not stop you from buying regular insurance and going to a doctor that does not accept the government system.
And thanks for confirming Obama care is just a compromise to the republicans. So when you bash it, remember it is not really what democrats want so much as the republicans.
Do you think a single payer system would hurt the economy?
I think it would keep a lot more money in the pockets of average Joe. They would have good preventative health and thus be more able to work productively.
It would certainly cost business less. Which seems to be your main concern.
Ask the Canadians and the British about that Mike. Six month waits to see specialists and even longer waits for elective surgery. Single payer means just that. With that system there is no private alternative.

The point of this thread boils down to this. Liberals need conservatives but conservatives don't need liberals. If you split this nation in half and gave the best half to liberals and the rest to conservatives and confiscated the wealth of conservatives and gave it to liberals; the conservatives would overtake liberals in wealth and standard of living very quickly. The liberal half would be desititute also very quickly.

There are people that use the government as a weapon to force others the live under their thumb, not in freedom. This is true all over the world. So if you support the government are you trying to take something from others? Force peoples the pay for programs you want? To take from people who have worked hard to provide for their families? So who is going to balance the power of the many to the freedom of the one?
So it sounds as if you are saying the one pecenters have lost their freedom.
I know republicans feel so sorry for millionaires.

This coming from someone who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth is quite ironic.

Again, have you heard of Solyndra? Obama loaned John Corzine (the man he said he called when things were a mess) enough money to float everybody in the U.S. with solar panels to get this company up and going. Obama was right, call John Corzine when things are a mess because he will forget what he did with the money the government loaned Solyndra and then the company goes bankrupt and you've got a bigger mess. This bankrupt company has Obama's name all over, if not literally, because he loaned the money, showed off his big, new green initiative company, once the company was floundering made sure the government secured more loans and it still went bankrupt. This makes me think Obama can't do any better than Romney because more than the state of MA and Bain, we the whole U.S. are still on the hook for the money given/stolen by Solyndra.
I see no comparison of the two. Obama did not run Solyndra. Obama did not force Solyndra to bankruptcy.
Alternative energy companies are a risk in the market. That is why Obama gave the loan. Because regular banks do not care about the future of our energy supply. But it is our governments job to keep our energy supplies secure.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

Thanks for the generalization. You attack liberals. But the claim was that I was making a personal attack. And you are the personal attacker king on this tread.

It just sounds as if I know it all because I give informative answers instead of just name calling and over-generalizations.

I respond to posts that I know about. I study a lot instead of just following a herd into superstitions that I cannot show as real.

This was ALL started by your "sheep" comment. I merely responded to it and obviously got your goat. Dance, little puppet, dance.
By the way, why do you not check out the Canadian health care system if you wish to see the future as desired by U.S. liberals.
If I believed idiots like Rush Limbaugh, I would think no one in Canada ever gets health care, but I am not a sheep who believes things without evidence.

I read somewhere that "double-posting" is usually the result of an angry response as the poster hits the "post" button multiple times thinking it will speed up the posting process.
Note to Arnie; Topix is NOT worth getting angry over. It is fantasy-world, nothing more.
And of course you believe anything you read without evidence as long as it supports your ideas.

Thanks for the explaining that. I was curious.
I check in and read the messages but work has been slammed. Opening two new facilities in next 60 days. One in Richmond VA & the other just west of Hickory. Will have a 3rd DC (distribution center) in Knoxville by the end of 2012. Business is good but it leaves little time for "life". Hope all is well with you and yours.
Business is good? Then why all the whining about the economy?
Face it, the Bush left the economy in shambles and it is coming up slowly.
But you wish for government to magically make the economy perfect. Welcome to the harsh reality of the world. Government can only do so much.
I am sure you know, Europe's economy affects ours and thus at this time, it is not helping us grow so much. But of course you will lay all blame on Obama because you are a republican.

No Mike, you troll around this post and try to chew up and spit out anyone you perceive as a conservative. When I see where you have posted to anyone other than the 2-3 people that agree with you, it reminds me of Jaws. Of course it's humor and certainly something you know nothing about.

Thanks for asking and everything is going okay for my group. Business is picking up somewhat for our business, you know what it's like, feast or famine. Sounds like things are on the upswing for your business. Good luck and drop us a line every now and then.
From the way you guys talk, I would think everyone was facing bankruptcy. Yet the reality is much different that what you whine about.
Things are not great, but they are not really as bad as you make it sound.
