I think that Gonzalez should sue Walmart as well! I wish him the best of luck and I hope he finally teaches these communist pigs that think they can control our right to carry a lesson.

U WILL BE SHOT IN SM

Living in SM, these corrupted interbreeded pigs (now you know where the swine flu started in the SM area) in this city will shoot to kill anyone that carries a gun. If they made a mistake, they'll pull out a non traceable gun from their trunk with the serial numbers grinded out and place it in the victims hands and claim self defense. Didn't the trigger happy SMPD officer that shot a dog with his 45 magnum also claim that the dog was carrying a gun and they needed to shoot it to protect themselves? It's about the honest public gets to protect themselves from the SM corrupt PD and city officials!

Open Carry = dumbest ruling in decades. Most folks who think they are good with a gun are just Yahoos who go to the range occasionally or shoot beer cans off a fence rail.
In a real situation, they'll just either wind up shot themselves or facing murder charges for killing innocent bystanders and totally missing the criminal.
Cops and other professionally trained law enforcement officers, know this. Lawmakers (playing to their redneck bases) don't seem to care.

Well then maybe we should have concealed carry in this state then. But, wait a minute - they have that in the "big brother" state of Minnesota and the last time I was there, it was like the freekin wild west!! There were dead bodies EVERYWHERE! People were shooting at each other for no reason and the mayhem and murder was the norm, not the exception!!

In Minnesota, the law includes training guidelines and liberal search, seizure, and detain options based on suspicion of 'carrying' that came about as a result of their initial carry law.

(i.e., have to complete and be qualified as a "qualified individual", must show proof of successful completion of "authorized firearms training" etc.)

Non-residents may not carry nor may any residents who are not 'qualified' per their requirements.

Still stupid, as many may pass qualification who are in fact still light-years away from the type of training law enforcement personnel go thru, repeatedly, in order to actually be qualified to SUCCESSFULLY arm and defend themselves and the public. Fact is, most folks in MN are too well educated/smart to go around carrying firearms that will probably result in their or some other innocent's death.

It would be really, really. nice if some folk took the time to actually locate and read the governmental requirements of the laws (vs the blog/biased news reports that promote your agenda) and some independent analysis/data related to their impact/effect before posting such dribble.

It's just like the budget arguments .... most folks don't even know how to download the official US Gov't spreadsheets and analyse them -- yet, they repeat the talking points that some media yahoo feeds them as long as they are in line with their agenda.

There is a hidden agenda here being foisted into the public by the anti-gun wacko's. Consider this;

State Statute (66.092) 1995 Wisconsin Act 75, section 2:~~~ "…no political subdivision may enact an ordinance or adopt a resolution that regulates the sale, purchase, purchase delay, transfer, ownership, use, keeping, possession, bearing, transportation, licensing, permitting, registration or taxation of any firearm or part of a firearm, including ammunition and reloader components, unless the ordinance or resolution is the same as or similar to, and no more stringent than, a state statute." http://www.legis.state.wi.us/LRB/pubs/wb/00wb...

Hunters carry open firearms. If one effectively shuts the door on ALL open carry firearms, one opens the the door to allowing for hunting with an open firearm to be ILLEGAL. The anti-gun nuts would love that. On the opposite end, some may take the open carry concept too far and attempt to apply it to urban area's which I consider to be extremely imprudent and potentially dangerous.

The State Attorney General did nothing more than reiterate what is already on the books. The pundits, bloggers and media extremists are making much ado about nothing.

Common Sense should be the guide here.

Laws are not like blankets -- they are written to address specific policy issues to address things like public safety, national security, etc.

Windsavage's (and, others like him's) argument contradicts all logic - it's like saying "You can't pass a law banning Gay Marriage because then eventually ALL marriage will be banned".

On backround - I am a trapshooter and hunter. My father a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer. But, your version of "common sense" is nonsensical IMO. I support Gay Marriage, because I am secure enough not to see it as a threat to my, or anyone I knows, marriage.

So it's ok for police, who by the way, like in South Milwaukee, WI, are not monitored, nor video ever video taped nor monitored in any way, to shoot and kill anyone they want? Your corrupt SMPD and city officials REFUSE 130% to ever monitor independently any of their actions, and solely base in a court of law solely "THEIR WORD" CORRUPTED WORD AND DOCUMENTS and falsified police reported to deam them "HONEST AND TRUE" in their actions? SOUTH MILWAUKEE IS EXTREMETELY INTERNAL CORRUPT BECAUCE THE CITY FINDS IT FINANCIALLY BETTER TO IGNORE HONESTEY, NOR VIDEO OR AUDIO EVIDENCE IN A COURT OF LAW! SMPD's policy is if you can't F*CK IT, OR THEM UP THE AZZZZ, SHOOT TO KILL IT TO COVER YOUR CRIME, WHILE WEARING A BLUE UNIFORM!!!!!!!!!!

First off "Yee Haw", you must be thinking of the quote from the great Clarence Darrow who said, "Laws should be like clothes. They should be made to fit the people they serve." I happen to agree with that, to a certain point. However, I will agree that some laws certainly do need to act as a catharsis at times, for the greater good of public safety if not liberty.

IMHO, your metaphor linking Second Amendment rights to gay marriage is a bit non sequitur if not post hoc. The two are not "fundamentally" Constitutionally inter-related for one thing as one right is proscribed and the other, prescribed...but this is moot.

Perhaps I should explain. In brief, all the AG did was put his "nihil obstat" forward stating the WI Justice Department's stand on an existing law that has been repeatedly enforced in a certain manner.

If you'll look at the the law/code the way the legislature passed it, it's very ambiguous. It does NOT definitively state in clear and concise language that "open carry" IS legal. Wisconsin's statutes are silent on carrying weapons openly, such as in a clearly visible belt holster, a practice that has constitutional backing. To wit;

["Van Hollen distributed the advisory in response to questions from district attorneys and police officials across the state. Some, Van Hollen said, mistakenly believed the mere act of wearing a handgun in a visible holster amounted to a violation of the disorderly conduct statute."]

It is well within the realm of possibility (and Common Sense) to suggest that opponents to guns might use this "open carry" pseudo controversy in order to get our not-too-bright Governor to push for legislation banning open carry. Which, if the law is not carefully phrased, could have a "chilling effect" on hunters. This would not be the first time our useless elected officials passed a poorly written and thought out law.

One need to look no further than Milwaukee's "Shepherd Express" newspaper to get a feel how the anti-gun nuts are looking at this situation.

OK - Here's another thing that the SM CORRUPT CITY OFFICLALS "TRIED" to PASS UNDER THE TABLE & AGAINST STATE LAWS, ANOTHER "CITY LAW" THAT IS AGAINST STATE LAWS ON THE BOOKS!
Tonight - 2 June 2009, 7pm, your SAME SOUTH MILWAUKEE CORRUPT CITY OFFICIALS IN THE MOST CORRUPT SMALL CITY EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI, TRIED TO AGAIN OVERRIDE STATE & FEDERAL LAWSLAWS!
YOUR SO CALLED "HONEST" SM CORRUPT officials tried to pass another "closed door" any right for any citizen in SM to carry a gun; EVEN IF THE STATE MANDATES IT A RIGHT FOR ALL CITIZENS!
YEAH! Your CORRUPT CITY OFFICIALS ONLY WANTS THEIR CRIMINAL POLICE OFFICERS IN UNIFORM TO BE THE ONLY ONES TO SHOOT AND KILL WHAT THEY CAN'T HELL!
WOW! That's 2 Things alone tonight your City Officials TRIED TO GET AWAY WITH CRIMINAL ACTIONS WHILE IN OFFICE!
PEOPLE IN SM! YOU NEED TO WATCH AND PAY ATTENTION WHAT YOUR CORRUPT CITY IS TRYING TO PULL! THESE ARE ONLY THE ONES THAT WE CAUGHT, AND I ASSURE YOU HONEST CITIZENS, THERE ARE MANY THAT THESE CROOKS IN SM PASSED, THEN NEVER WERE CAUGHT!
SO SOUTH MILWAUKEE, HOW SAFE ARE YOU REALLY, AND AGAIN, HOW CAN THE CITY SAY THEY ARE DOING THINGS TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY SAFER? THESE SM CITY OFFICIALS HAVE A LONG PATTERN OF CORRUPTION, WHILE IN OFFICE!!!!
WARNING: If you live or visit SM, expect the SMPD TO SHOOT AND KILL YOU, AND THEN HAVE AN INTERNATION INVESTIGATION AND SAY THEY WERE DEFENDING THEMSELVES! REMEMBER, These so called "HONEST CITY INVESTIGATORS" ARE PAID AND RETIRED FROM THE CITY OF SM EMPLOYEES, POLICING THEMSELVES! SEE HOW HONEST YOUR SM CITY OFFICIALS REALLY ARE.
How much more does the community need to take from CORRUPT CITY OFFICIALS TO BYPASS AND BRANDISH THEIR OWN LAWS! This IS THE SAME CITY WHERE THE CORRUKPT SMPD KNOWINGLY FALSIFIES POLICE REPORTS, FALSIFIED COURT DOCUEMENTS, AND LIES TO THE COURT! This city is trying to be run just like Germany in the Hitler ear, where they brandish whatever laws they want; PUBLICALLY OPENLY IGNORE STATE & FEDERAL LAWS; AND GLADLY PISS ON THE US CONSTITUTION!
Does anyone else see all the bull this city does? Read and be informed!

Your 100% Correct! Major Zeplocki is old azz and crazy, and lives in a dream world, all his own. He's the perfect example of an old dickhead in office, that is so stupid and clueless, that he doesn't know he needs to be put out to pasture, and THINKS he's helping the community! But what do you expect from a off duty drunk? Just like his beer drunken best friend, the SM Fire and Police Commissioner! Wow - What a Town!

You obviously must never leave your house. Or you are simply under educated enough that you would come on this site and spew ridiculous remarks without having any legal facts to back them up. If you are afraid of guns...that's ok. Go find your blankey and hide in your bedroom.

Blah, Blah, Blah, look at me everyone I want to be a cop!
Is that all you got Yahoo? Just because you are either going through a criminal justice program or already have and maybe you are a rookie cop, who knows. That doesn't mean you know everything.
In fact, have you ever heard the old saying that when seconds count, cops are minutes away? Who do you trust to protect your loved ones?

Hmmm, your father is an FFL Dealer but you don't support the right to carry....That's an oxymoron. Oh but the fact that you support gay marriage makes it all better. Sounds like your just a person with a personal agenda. It's ok as long as you like it. Way to go jug head.
