The ice goes on seemingly forever in a white pancake-flat landscape, stretching farther than ever before.

Whatever Penny. You are indeed a foul name-caller with NOTHING of value to contribute.
Yes, you are right. Still.

I had mentioned Phil Plait earlier. New quote:

The rate at which the temperature is rising took a huge leap starting a century ago, and its due to human activity. Were seeing the effects now, from the ice caps melting to changes in vegetation growth rates. There is no scientific controversy here, just a manufactured political and ideological one.

I agree with you but I feel that the reason that a lot of people do not care about global warming and climate change is because they are not informed about it.
I understand your concern. If your information comes only from the media, you do not know what you need to know.

I think fewer people are concerned with the man made aspect of global warming because they have looked at the information and found that there is no empirical evidence of man causing the recent warming.

Not only is there no empirical evidence, but the more information that is found shows natural causes to be more impactful than previously thought.

We know so much more about how climate operates today than we did 30 years ago when this all started. When this started we thought the sun's energy was constant. The solar constant, is no longer a viable concept.

In 1977 scientist observed "The Great Pacific Climate Shift", didn't know what it was, didn't even give it a name until the 1990s. Now we know it as the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, PDO, and the ENSO, the El Ninos/La Ninas. Not only is there a major climate maker in the pacific ocean, but in every ocean system on earth. And each oscillation shifts from positive to negative on its own schedule, and impacts every other function of climate in the process.

The AO, arctic oscillation, impacts the European glaciers. When the AO is positive the mass balance of the European glaciers decrease, when negative, the mass balance increases. We didn't know this when the panic about the glacier mass balance loss was observed. Another interesting fact, the Little Ice Age saw the largest extent of glacier mass increase in the last 10,500 years. The glaciers we are so concerned about 'melting' weren't a problem for the Romans. Attila the Hun had no glacier problems when he crossed the Alps.

Can man impact his climate, sure, just build a huge city with lots of concrete and you can raise the temperature of the area. Build a reservoir, you'll change the surrounding ecosystem. Cut down a forest, irrigate crops in a low rainfall area, cover the desert floor with solar panels. The alkaline desert absorbs CO2, except when covered. All of the above will change the immediate area, but just like with a large city, go 20 miles outside the populated area and you have different temps.

Until man can change that 30 year oscillation in the pacific ocean or control the amount of energy we get from the sun, he will not control the climate.

So submit your scientific science fiction nonsense to Hollywood and make another scientific science fiction movie. You have spammed to world more than 900,000times with your nonsense. Go compete with the proper scientific science fiction movie arena.
