I couldn't be happier to hear this. Now being that they put it on paper, I'd like to see them EXERCISE this law and actually DRUG test. I'd like to see them next do away with anyone that lives off of welfare alone as an income being able to file taxes. If you don't work and pay taxes, you shouldn't be able to file for them and get money back. Period.

They tried this in Florida and it failed miserably. The costs of testing were more than was saved and the numbers of positive test were extremely low (like 2%).

Furthermore, what about all of the kids of drug abusers? They aren't going to take away the money that's given to the children of addicts. You think mommy or daddy are really going to go without? No, they'll just take junior's lunch money to buy their beer. This is a horrible idea.

More then likely if they are a drug addict, they are selling their food stamps to who ever may buy them. Regardless if it takes away from their children or not, they are worried about their next high.

They don't need drug testing they need time limits. If your are working and need help fine no time limit as long as you keep working, if you are school they you should still be made to work part-time to get assistance. If you don't work and have more then two children, especially by different men, they you should be made to choose: 1. got one year to get a full-time job then loose assistance and kids go to family or foster care. 2. keep assistance with no job, but you get fixed (like a dog). Men who don't pay child support and keep having babies should have the choose of paying or snip snip.

There are time limits to cash assistance. 36months to be exact. & for a full time college student to still work part time I disagree. I go to school 4 days a week. Have to care for my child while also study and doing tons of homework. As long as the grades are good students shouldn't be forced to work for assistance.

This was my point. This will just mean less money to go around to the children.

thats good and all, but how many people told you to stay in school and out of trouble to start with? just think how proud you would be of yourself now, if you would have listened?

Well before you want to say something like that know my past, my mom was a pill addict herself & my dad was never hardly around. I never had a parent to guide me right and tell me to stay in school. & ive never in my life been in trouble. Why do you automatically assume ive been into trouble? IT doesnt matter because all of chillicothe has turned into is nothing but troubled teens and drug addicted kids along with tons of teen parents.

I assume you stayed in school, Gary, and look where it got you. Did you miss the week that they taught that the first letter of each sentence should be capitalized and that question marks are for actual questions?

I mean it as if getting their assitance or not the children probably as of now dont get anything out of it. Lets just pray that god will show everyone the way so the poor children dont suffer.
