Gift cards yes, be mindful of the stores available to him.
Money, ehhh I donít really like sending cash in the mail but yes he is allowed to have money.
Candy, how it went for during my basic was we had a few minutes in the evening if someone's family sent some candy/cookies we had to split it even among about 40 guys and eat it quick.
Stamps, yes always come in handy.
Thing I liked getting the most from home were pictures.

Send stamps, pictures, and what always helped me out was phone cards. Money shouldn't be needed. When I was in they gave us a card that had $200 on it (comes out of first check of course) and it was used at the BX to buy the necessities needed to get us thru our time there. DO NOT send cookies or candy

well i guess the army is laid back, in the corps you didnt have time for anything mabie 15 min before lights out but cash and phone cards a no. we were issued a debit card for general supplies soap toothpaste etc. "letters are the key let them know whats going on family and friends recruits love something of the norm. usualy after so many weeks they can call home for 6 min or so.

He's in bootcamp! WTH...sending gift cards, money etc.? He's going to be done in 9 weeks or less. No need for money because they give them a card with money on it that comes out from the first paycheck. Gifs cards...they are in BOOT CAMP! What time or place will they need gift cards for?! They are there to learn the Army ways, not to shop. Plus, there is no shopping for them until they are finished with basic. Sending stamps...yes. Send those, they always run out of stamps when they have time during fire guard duty or Sunday down time. Other than that, contact the recruiter and use common sense.....

DO NOT send candy unless you want them to smoke him (ie. punishment through physical excercise). No need for gift cards bc the only store they will see is the on base shoppette, once maybe twice. Stamps are a great idea and maybe a sheet of paper and an envelope in a letter to right back to you with. When I was in basic the letters where the best let me know how things were at home and gave me a little something to distract my mind for a few minutes a day. My granny used to cut the comics out of the paper and send them in her letters. The little things like that are what he needs.
