What I've seen is, if you preach good, the congragation grows then comes the new and bigger church and with that the preacher starts living fine. A fine car and home, living better than any of his congregation and they pay for it all. Greed takes over and it always happens. I have yet to see a big fine church and the paster living moderately.

I know you did ask me, but Lighthouse Baptist is the church I join recently. If you want to feel God's presence and hear some very wonderful sermons I would suggest this Church. It is a very moving in the sprite I can promise you that!
What a coincidence! We live behind Lighthouse and visited a few times. The churches 20 acre back yard joins our yard in back and provides us with a big beautiful view which we enjoy every day. We are looking forward to Lighthouse family day again, last year was great as well was the men’s pulled pork BBQ. It is a good church with an excellent youth program; we watch their outdoor activities from our back yard. I have gotten to know and think a lot of your Assistant Pastor Shane Browning from our comings and goings in our back yards. Small world.

I never suggest that one leave their home Church if they feel led to be there.
We grow the best where the Lord plants us, He knows far more about my Spiritual needs (and yours) than we ever will.
Everything practiced in Worship must be Biblically based, if it is not in the Bible it doesn't belong in the Church.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, there should be no confusion, God is not the author of confusion.
One major "key" is the moving of the Spirit, if it has to be "worked up" it is emotion, when it is of the Spirit it happens instantaneously.
Words, IE Testimonies, Preaching, singing should be "felt" as well as heard, God works on both ends, if someone is discouraged the Spirit will lead another to speak words of encouragement.
Have you ever heard a message Preached or a Testimony or Song and felt "that was just for me" ?, it was.
The inner peace is restored, one feels both strengthened, encouraged and deeply Blessed.
Anytime that you make a big decision (such as changing your home Church), Pray about it, if needed "put a fleece out" ask for a definite sign.
Satan can appear as an angel of light, we need to be certain that we are following God's will and not our own.
There is a Charismatic Church just north of Huntington school, I have not been there in a while (been Pastoring).
The last time I was there, they had it going on, the Spirit was moving.
Myself, I am non denominational, kind of "Bapticostal" if that makes sense.
Christ centered Preaching is the only way, if a Church Preaches tithing regularly, look out (some request pay stubs these days to be a member).
Love is the single most important element in any Church, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.
Christ loved those that crucified Him enough to ask God to forgive them.
We are to love one another as Christ loves us.
We will keep you in our Prayers, be about the Fathers business, do His will and He will Bless you until your cup overflows.
God Bless.
Thanks Preacher, this is all very sound advice. Some years ago I realized that is good to fellowship with different churches and denominations and to regard them as brothers in Christ by visiting their services. For several years it was my practice to attend my home church for the early service and then another church at 11:00 and sometimes a different church for an evening service. God’s people can easily maintain a church home and yet also build fellowship with one another in unity by breaking the barriers which confine us to one single church. I can remember the old days whenever local churches would hold week long revival services many members from other neighboring churches and their pastors would also attend and support each other in turn. One good example of Christian unity among us today is the joint efforts of many different denominations, churches, pastors, and volunteers who support and operate the free Hope Clinic of Ross County.

It is a small world! I will be at family day, maybe I will see you there! They have a awesome youth program that's one of the things that called me to join. The sermons are really moving.

<quoted text>You called yourself a preacher, just wondered if you really were one and I saw your location as Waverly.
However, you seem to put this one down and covet what he has. How genuine are you to do that?
False doctrine is meant to be exposed.
The sign said "Become a Prophet" then included contact information.
Other ads included the price for the classes.
Only God can call a person to Preach His word in the Spirit, no man can teach another how to Preach or become a Prophet.
I have also attended "Open Door" along with numerous other Churches.
When ANY Church gets outside the Bible.... yes, I have a problem with it.
People tend to lump all of Christianity together, if one Church is not Preaching and teaching Biblical doctrine, or their motive is questionable it makes all Churches look bad.

I covet nothing, my life is richly Blessed, all of my needs are well taken care of.
I simply pointed out that one doesn't need a mansion in Yaples orchard to be a Minister.
There were quite a few members that had a big problem with all the money they were putting in the offering going toward building such an expensive home in Yaples.

Motive is the question, my only motive is to live my life pleasing to the Lord.
I do not accept a "salary", never have and never will, Preaching is about far more than money.
I don't Preach "feel good, pat you on the back, put more in the plate" Religion.
I Preach under the unction of the Holy Spirit, Gods word, not mine.
Salvation, by and through the blood of Jesus Christ, Holiness by the Grace of God.
Praising and Glorifying the Lord, for He alone is worthy.

Your post explains a lot about why I am non denominational.
If a Church Preaches sound, Biblical doctrine I consider them brothers and sisters in Christ = one body.

Sorry if I misunderstood you, I thought you were looking for a new "home Church".
I too visit different Churches when we are not in Service.
As long as it is Christ centered Biblical Worship I really enjoy it.
When someone gets "outside" of the Bible... I have been known to walk out in the middle of Service.
Glorifying God and Praising Him is what it is all about.

EXACTLY my point, a Minister is to Minister to the congregation, be their servant between them and the Lord.
Jesus never had a place to lay His head to sleep, yet how many Ministers are worth millions ?.

I agree that the actions of one are not that of the whole, nor should the actions of one church or one pastor be the reflection on the whole. Unfortunately, the world views things differently and the actions of one do reflect upon all. One verse comes to mind here:“Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity”. Even if one decides to merely display a Christian bumper sticker or wear a cross about their neck… they should be careful to walk the walk, and not just talk the talk. I am weary of so called Christians bringing shame and disgrace to the name of all other Christians by their irreverence and indiscretion.
