OK, so lets set the record straight to everyone here who is talkin about dor as tho they have actually been here, or used to work here b/c if u had wrkd here then u would kno that our overnight person is actually our live in aide.. she has her own room b/c she is staff. sure she was a resident and was homeless, dwn n out the whole 9 yards but since she has cleaned up her act she has become a staff member and was asked to become the live in aide. and yes there is a whole lot of jacked up crap going on but guess what our board is not oblivious to it all, there are changes being made and going to b new faCes coming in. so.. with that being said i am a resident here and i could go oon about everything that sucks and the few volunteers that suck too but i will leave that out b/c u have to take the bad with the good and truth b told ther is a lot of good coming out of this place i mean they take us women who r dwn n out with nowher to go and nobody to turn to and they give us a bed and a roof and guess what we have cable and i am even on the internet// i kno its so hard to beleive,, in a homeless shelter.. just b4 u go on slammin this place for all the bad pls try to find the good in it. i have to every single morning i wake up and every night i lay dwn to sleep!

This is what you call a good idea gone bad.Why have a board of directors if you keep your distant from the business you are over seeing? How did they not see this coming for crying out loud, they let Brandy Morris be the director. That is stupid, she is the pot calling the kettle black. She is the farthest thing from being a people person. She has no clue how to treat people. She is always to busy running her mouth screaming at people and putting them down. She is a huge loser and gives Christianity a bad name.

I have delivered donations to DOR and would wonder why the director would be on facebook asking for donations cleaning supplies etc just a few days after dropping off enough to last for at least a few weeks. Same with gift cards. After seeing the amount of food and the clothes stacked to the ceiling in the garage but always seeing them ask for more made me wonder if they needed help managing the resources more effectively.

Well here's the deal- thhis is whats not being said. Brandy was left to run the shelter because their was no one else. Not to mention she committed a year of her life to the place so 40 women would have a place to go not to mention stable housing after the fact and she did it with no pay. NO PAY! The only reason the place stayed open for so long is because of brandy's love for helping people. The place has more volunteers, donations and funds that it has EVER had so she must have been doing something right. She was tired and stressed out running a shelter with a bunch of unappreciative ppl isn't easy, especially for one person to do EVERYTHING. Ive done it before. So if she pressed the girls there to do their best in life then yes she's a bad person. But what was your part in it cause thats not being said. Did everybody get help down there? NO because in reality it was too much work for them. I don't understand how you can bash someone that was doing her best, might not have been right all the time but she tried. How about look at the reality of it- she resigned 2 wks ago and the place was shut down because no one else wanted to do the job. So how about just thanking her for not being perfect but trying!

The place never knew when they would get donations and they would never ask for stuff they already had. And they would go through stuff like crazy because people would run off w/ it, or it would be used by everyone there. What is wrong w/ ppl? This place done a service for people that they didn't have to do. No wonder there hasn't been a place like this before- they would be burned at the stake. Geesh!

You clearly are an idiot and have never volunteered there, most likely a resident / druggie friend of Brandy's. How do you get that she gave a year of her like to the place when it hasn't even been open that long. She lived there TOTALLY free from ANY EXPENSE and even continued to take anything she wanted from the shelter after she moved out. The shelter is ran by volunteers not a dead beat director. If that was her best then it is no wonder she couldn't handle it. She resigned after being given no other choose. Here's the deal she is a user and not just drugs.

The place definitely knew when donations were being brought in because there was a list of items to ask people to bring in when they called to see what was needed. And yes there were plenty of times that what was on the list was not needed at the shelter. They wasted more than they used.

What's up with making Mandy a live in resident? All it did for her is make her less responsible. She hardly ever does her dirty dishes anymore and is just plain lazy. Bad mistake taking a resident and giving them preference over the other residents. Brandy= bad teacher ; Mandy = bad student. Haha

I worked there it wasnt for very long. Reason being my first night i shadowed someone all we did was sit outside and talk she didnt show me anything then the following night i was thrown in on my own not knowing anything. A resident showed me how to do everything . That same night i had talked to a resident on if she should stay or not cause she was having family problems . At the end of my shift i told brandy about our conversation and her decision and she told me to pay no mind to her she just wanted attention. There was a number of times i called brandy about things she wouldnt answer the phone or call back so i was left clueless.. and if they needed donations that bad they wouldnt have a cardboardl box in the garage to put things they didnt want or need
