jokers

I've seen first hand what the current jokers are capable of and wish that on noone. They are Dumb and Dumber. I hope Ross County votes to get them out - the safety of all residents is at stake. And since this discussion is probably led by or read by one of them - you know who you are!

We should not hold it against law enforcement for being in the media. We want to read and hear about all going on. Lavender is not in the news due to he has done nothing. He does not have as many cars on the road as Nichols. And as previously said lavender hired a crew of his friends to be on the payroll and run departments when they were capable people already there. I have known Gillette since he was a cop way back when. He was NOT part of the Nichols group but a man of his own. I say give Gillette a chance. He can't do worse than lavender who has done nothing, and maybe he will do better.

"He was NOT part of the Nichols Group", you say? How can someone retire from one job and walk directly into another job that was nothing more than a PR job for the previous Sheriff? Ask Mr. Gillette how many criminal investigations he conducted while working for the previous Sheriff. The answer will be NONE. In fact, ask him how long it has been since he actually conducted a criminal investigation of any kind. That might take you back to his days with the PD in the 80s. Dale is a good guy but not someone we need as a Sheriff. I'm also concerned that he would bring back the previous Sheriff and/or some of his underlings. That's something I definitely don't want to see happen. The Ronnie and Donnie show should never return.

Dale specialized in Elder Abuse, he worked on a lot of differant crimes to the elderly. He worked a lot with the Attorney Generals office even. He was a man of his own and not in a group. Nichols knew what ur did was good and kept him the news. People should be glad to see things in the news. Ronnie and Donnie are having to much fun at the BMV making things hard on certain people coming in. lavender and keener ate the new Ronnie and Donnie with there bunch of has beens and never beens. There is less cars on the road and more crimes and I see where he has done nothing. I say lets give Gillette a chance. Lavender had his chance and has done nothing at all. Look how he handles the case with the man who was robbed, murdered then house caught on fire. Not very good.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact nothing major has really happened. Rampantly increasing drug use has been the only real 'major' crime in the past 4 years, and you see how well they have cleaned that up.

Has Ross County even seen a true cold blooded murder in the past 4 years? The only two real incidents I can think of is the drug use and the chain of break-ins. Neither of which any advance has been made on

If your current upstanding lying ignorant Sheriff would have known how to investigate at all you'd know about a true cold blooded murder in Ross County. It happened on October 16, 2011 on State Route 772, Harry Smith. "Your" Sheriff did everything he could think of, and what his right hand man told him to try, to call this case a suicide. He did not care about the family, he did not care about protecting the integrity of a WWII vet, retiree of Mead Corp. Nor does he care about any of you or how you meet your fate. Until the family hired outside help, he thought he'd get by with it. The State Fire Marshal's office, prosecutor's office and the Ross County Coroner were all duped by him, and now themselves face public scrutiny. How many other suicides, non-suspicious deaths have been called just that simply to avoid having this cold blooded crap from happening on his watch? Ross County better wake up before November gets here. Do yourself a favor, ask his current employees who are not colonels and they will tell you what kind of joke he really is.

Really? I have not heard a single thing that Mr. Gillette plans to do that would benefit the citizens of this community. The Sheriff's Office is a business, it requires a business knowledge, something Mr. Gillette has not demonstrated. Listen to the two of them talk. One knit-pics the last four years and the other actually talks details.
A suffering County

I think it is time for a change. The crime and the drugs in this county are out of control and our sheriff is doing nothing aboout it. Look at all the drug raids
in the city. How many raids has the sheriff's dept done this year under 5 what the county does not have a drug problem or did lavender run the only det that knew how to work drugs to another county. Look at all of the homes broken into , vehicle thefts and bussiness broken into in the last four years. How many of them are being solved not to many and what is lavender done to fix the problem nothing. next time you see lavender ask him how many detectives he has working in the department.2 Then you look at the Harry Smith case on ST RT 772 and how that was handled and the double fatal on ST RT 104 again who is suffering with lavender in office the county. Then lavender said he was going to seen deputies to school to be trained in accidents if reelected after this crash happen in 2011 and it is now 2012 looks like damage control to me. He should have sent people to school right after this crash again the county is suffering lavender. Lavender has done nothing for this county it is time for him to go. Lavender said he would put more deputies on the road that was flase until election year . Lavender has lost a lot of good deputies and there are not many left. If he is reelected the county will suffer becasue the few good deputies left will leave because lavender does not know how to treat his hard working deputies they get treated like crap. It is time for lavender to go before he screws up another fatal crash or murder.

I really hope that none of his investigations resulted in an arrest since it has been proven that Mr. Gillette was improperly wearing a Sheriff's Badge under the former Sheriff and any arrests would have been invalid. Mr. Gillette also claims there was no "break in service" between his leaving the Chillicothe Police Department and joining the Atomic Plant Guards. I'm amazed he has forgotten the time he worked for the Chillicothe VA between those two jobs where he was NOT a commissioned Peace Officer. I also have to question WHEN he was commissioned as a Peace Officer to work at the A-Plant. Not all guards are Peace Officers nor do they need to be. Maybe these questions were the results of memory lapses or maybe the Chillicothe Gazette had it wrong. Either way, Mr. Gillette lost my respect and my vote by not making his work records crystal clear.
