Traffic-enforcement cameras went dark in two central Ohio communities yesterday, hours after voters approved ballot measures that essentially banned them.

Any way leaders want to try to justify it, it is completely unjustifiable and unconstitutional to issue a citation to a vehicle. It doesn't matter that no points go against the vehicle owner. You are still proclaiming someone guilty of breaking the law whom law enforcement officials cannot identify.

red light camaras are great tools to make people obey the law and make it safer to be on the road. There is so much disregard for traffic laws that something needs to be done to help stop the lawbreakers and stop endangering innocent people that do follow the law.....

Well, now I am sure you'll have 2 - 4 cars driving thru red lights now instead of the normal 1 -2. More accidents! Just hope everyone, including the kids that are not usually in seat belts, will have some sort of restraint so we don't have more deaths! Please respect the law and the other driver. I certainly hope we improve the amount of police at corners and not what we had before!! Please be careful!

The basic idea of red light cameras is good, but in practice it is not workable, at least in downtown Columbus the way the policy is currently defined. You can get caught in the middle of an intersection because of the actions of other drivers, and then you get a ticket. They need to be removed everywhere.
