wow, so young. another permanant solution to a temporary problem, my wifes brother did the samething, a few years back, the entire family is still tore up, will never be the same, we didnt see it coming,

At 7:47pm Thursday, the Ross County Sheriff reports his office was called to 619 George Hollow Road. The caller stated that his neighbor, 18-year-old Sheila Hardin stepped out her front porch and screamed for him to call the squad. The neighbor continues that he heard what sounded like a gunshot and saw a flash of light and then saw the victim Hardin fall to the floor of her front porch.

Deputies arrived on the scene at 7:56pm Franklin Township Squad arrived shortly thereafter. Hardin was discovered to have a single gun shot wound to the right side of her abdomen. She was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at approximately 8:45pm.

A 9 mm semi-automatic pistol was recovered from the scene. Neighbors reported to deputies that that they believed Sheila Hardin to be the only one home at the time of the shooting.

The Ross County Coroner’s Office is assisting in this investigation to determine the cause and mechanism of death. This incident is still under investigation.

Ok I have a question might sound dumb but something doesn't seem right I'm not here to bash but I was just wondering if she did it her self why would she be screaming for the neighbor to call the squad

what i understand 90% of suicides are accidental the people are reaching out and want help so they do something drastic to gain attention and more often than not end up dead. it sadens me how so many young people dont realize things get better. if she ment to kill herself she would have inflicted a head wound instead of the abdomin. but who will know the true state of her mind. this is truly heartfelt and dissapointing.

I know it just seemed odd to me when I read it I wasnt trying to start problems was just trying to understand

I truly hope they do investicate hard on this! First of all it was said neighbors heard gun SHOTS, Meaning more then one. Who knows if she did this herself. I know of this girl, and she was right handed. How could she hold a gun in her right hand and shoot herself on her right side? Doesn't make any since to me. Where was her boyfriend? And why would she want the neighbors to call squad and then shoot herself?? I pray that investigators do their job and get to the bottom of all these. This poor girl left behind a baby that wasn't even a year old. Doesn't make since to me.

If it smells like a rat - it probably is a rat. None of it makes sense. Rumor has it there was a history of domestic violence. I hope and pray that it doesn't take the SO and the coroner eight months to figure it out

she got what she deserves if she didnt know how to handle a fire arm. if she wanted to die that was her choice. i see it being more a ploy to get attention that back fired in the worse sort of way, she got the attention just wasnt around to enjoy it
