Wesley Taylor prep school
bogus

I would venture to say your children were probably asked to find other care for lack of payment. My boys went to Wesley Taylor from birth, so one for 7 years one for five. I do not agree that this place could be called terrible.

I agree that this place is excellent for kids! They have many teachers there with very good credentials. They are very attentive and would never hurt anyone's child. I also agree that the ones talking on here crap about them probably got kicked out for nonpayment or for being unruly. The teachers can only teach them . Some of the children I have seen dont have any manners and neither do their parents. Don't blame good teachers for your lack of parenting. Good job staff at wtp

I can tell you firsthand that this school provides little to no structure. The children are basically allowed to run around like crazy all day. Sure, if you go there they always manage to have little art projects and things pinned up that makes it look like they are doing things with the children, but every time I have been there the kids have been running around screaming. At one point I witnessed a "teacher" vacuuming one of the rooms while two children aged about 2 were jumping up and down on a chair about to fall off. I would never leave my children here, let alone trust this school to teach them anything.

seems there is a lot of financial aid flowing into this private school.... some 80 percent. I would be mad paying 4700 dollars for my child to go here and the child next to her doesn't pay anything or very little. how come. just a thought... think about it.

Also consider the fact that they have that volume of cash flowing in, yet still have virtually no outdoor space for the kids to play

seems as if the preschoolers just get to a certain level and learning stops. it should be just called daycare.

I recently removed my children from that daycare. My youngest was in the preschool and my oldest only went there when his regular school was out and in the summer. My daughter like the school. Although she went through a countless amount of teachers. It got to the point that I didn't even remember their names anymore. My son hated it. Believe me if a ten year old is telling you they are all stuck up snobs then something's wrong. The office staff and owner are very snooty. They make it quite obvious that they are only open for the money. When I lost my full time job and the only job I could find was part time, they were not receiving pay for full time, so they told me I could only bring my kids three days a week and it had to be the same three days a week. It did not matter to them when I was working. Try keeping a job anywhere and telling them you are only available three days a week. I could not even get my hours increased at work because of the limitations WTPS placed on me. There were other things that happened there that made me take my kids out. One thing that happened cause one teacher to get fired. But there were two teachers responsible that day for the children and the other teacher is still there. In my opinion if on was fired they both should have been, but they kept the one with seniority because I think that teacher is a real money maker for them.

I checked that school out couple years ago, the guy who was principal seemed very odd, and like he was too good to be bothered by anyone asking questions

My husband and I recently spent a day touring all the daycare facilities in Chillicothe, Ohio. Wesley Taylor was our first stop "not expecting us" I found the teachers extremely knowledgable, very respectful, friendly and eager to learn about all the little quarks my children have. The school was clean and specific security measures were taken with regards to the childrens safety, the staff was organized and the curriculum was very structured. We spent an hour touring the lower level and were introduced to all the staff who greeted us friendly and took the time from their daily routine to explain what activities the children were doing. This school was hands down our pick out of all the facilites we toured.
Play and Learn Express-the woman I spoke with had zero enthusiasm about her employment, she could not give me any specific curriculum that the children followed and basically told me that the majority of the children who attended there were foster children with behavioral issues.
Carver Community Center- upon entering the classroom the teacher had her back to us while screaming at a young child to shut-up. She didn't bother to get up and introduce herself in a professional manner "i'm assuming from embarrassment at being caught screaming at 3yr old."
Kids clubhouse- This facility was not bad other than the fact that the playgrounds needed serious attention, there was no kind of security and people walked around in unprofessional clothes, so with people coming and going I had no clue who worked there and who didn't. The teachers seemed nice but the toddler class had zero structure and the teacher told me that the teacher student ratio was exceeding the state guidelines and limits.
Yes Wesley Taylor is a little more pricey but the facility was cleaner than the rest, the staff was more professional and the structure and curriculum far exceeded the other providers in Chillicothe, Ohio. I would encourage all parents to tour as many facilites as possible before making a decision, don't be afraid to ask questions and take a proactive approach when it comes to choosing a child care facilty.

Sounds kinda like the state of our country. Why isn't anyone in this kind of an uproar as we pay for nearly 1/2 of Americans to sit on their fat asses drawing off the system.

My children attend WTPS upper and daycare and we all love it. Bev is no longer there and their are a lot of positive changes now. Everyone has their own opinions and experiences, but with new Head of School, it is well worth the money!!!

In the same breath, things may have went downhill the past few uears with bev, but that woman did wonderful things for years. She ran the place for 20 plus years. Her passion was what built that place. Im glad she was able to hand it over and it grow. Im grateful my boys were a part of this school. I blame thei superb reading skills on it.

The worst part about Wesley Taylor is the location. It REALLY sucks. You must use the alley and it is dangerous. Can't tell you how many accidents I have seen. It will be getting much worse now that renovations are finally sceduled to start on the new Adena Hilton (Old Carlise Building). If it was in a better location, I would give it a top rating.

I am employed at WTPS, I'm sorry your experience there wasn't great, but since I've been there the last two years NO staff have been fired so I'm not sure what your talking about!!!
