Thanks like saying benson IS SMART.
You really are an ignorant hick. Mr. Benson is a very intelligent and caring human being. He's doing great work with his homeless shelter. The citizens of Chillicothe should all kiss his azz.

What kind of human garbage faults a man for helping the needy? You really need to check yourself, Uncle Pervert. You're human scum. Your entire existence is defined by ignorance. You have no redeeming value whatsoever. You're just an uneducated, small town inbred. Your mother should be horse whipped for bringing such an imbecile into this world.

F you!

He is clearly more intelligent than you are. At least someone in this town is attempting to help those less fortunate. I would hate to see any of you classless hillbillies have to take time off from drinking or using drugs to help someone other than yourselves.

I've met and talked to several "SALT" tenants. Each one "heard about the center, and came in from the KC area". Not one yet has been from here...yet supposedly we had a homeless problem, per Benson. Serving Area Lazy Transients. There is a difference between serving a definite need, and simply attracting clients from another town.

OK, now I know you're lying. I know of one that moved here from KC to be with her boyfriend that kicked her out. She's not there anymore. I know of 4 for sure that are from around here. I went to school with them here in Chillicothe, and my mother knows his mother. You just don't like yourself, so your just hating on them. What are YOU doing that so damn great? Why don't you leave these poor people alone, haven't they suffered enough without you being a dick to them also?

I bet you attend church every week like every other judgemental porker in this community. There is a difference between knowing what you are talking about and just making shit up and declaring it to be the truth.

what about the SALT resident who was passed out drunk in the bathroom at the library and they didn't know if he was dead or alive. and the ones sleeping in the bean bags n the young people's room. The youngsters are scared to go in there. They sit around smoking with cell phones and blackberries. How do they afford those if they are homeless? This is the only facility in 15 counties. Do any of those 15 counties contribute to the center or are we funding the whole thing and attracting a bad group of people?

Whoa! Such backlash and stone throwing simply because I voiced an opinion!

I have my information, and you all have yours. And I choose to not trust the SALT center nor it's leadership until I see otherwise.

Is SALT a 501 c 3? Are they registered with the State of Missouri as a non-for-profit organization? I can't bring them up on Guidestar.com to view any public information.

That looks like a bunch of gossip to me.

Who even visits the Library these days? At least with the homeless hanging out there during the day the place is getting put to use by someone. I think the city should just close the place down and open a one room computer lab.
