So anyways this has been on my mind for awhile. I ate at Hicks Drive-In just recently. My family and I ate inside the establishment and while we were eating, the employees were screwing around being very unprofessional. I understand high school kids will be kids but that's not even the whole story. I then overheard what obviously was a young very immature shift manager being very rude to the cooks! I don't know what the cooks did or anything but overheard her use the words idiot and stupid. I've held a supervisor position for most of my life. I've never in my whole time ever heard of a manager treating their workers that horrible. Actually the owners could be held reliable for that behavior and I know if I was ever treated like that on the job I would definitely take some action. That was definitely my last time eating at that establishment and I'll tell my family and friends about this experience. It's obvious the people in charge up there don't care about their employees or customers or this stuff would not happen!

I was there just the other day. The food was good, the service was fine and the waiting time was almost nil. That's three things you wont find at other similar eating establishments in this town.

Ya my service in past has never been unsatisfactory. This was actually the first time I've ate inside and it is a completely different picture eating inside than it is to go through the car hop

Reliable=liable

Sounds personal to me otherwise why start a topic on here. I eat there 1-2 times a month. Sometimes inside, sometimes drive up and sometimes delivery. They are fast, friendly and the food is good in my opinion. Compared to the other place like them in town where I have waited up to 10 minutes for just drinks and the food is no better no worse, my business will be at Hicks.

Oh and for your topic the 3-4 times I have been inside the place I have never heard that type of language used. I have only seen a couple of teenage kids kind of playing around but hey the place wasn't busy and at least they were at work. That is a lot to ask these days it seems.

Ever heard of complaint department. A business needs to be informed to correct problems. They may never know otherwise they exist. Whining on Topix corrects nothing.

You mean actually talk to someone in charge about the problems in hopes of getting them corrected? Thats a CRAZY idea!

So, let's break down the original post
"So anyways this has been on my mind for awhile" TRANSLATION: I'm bored, so I think I'll stir up some things on Topix

"while we were eating, the employees were screwing around being very unprofessional"
TRANSLATION: They didn't bow down and worship the ground I walk on. I thought this was a five star restaurant.
"I then overheard what obviously was a young very immature shift manager being very rude to the cooks!"
TRANSLATION: My family is boring, so I thought I'd snoop on other people's conversation.

"I don't know what the cooks did or anything"
TRANSLATION: I like passing judgement on things I know nothing about

"I've held a supervisor position for most of my life."
TRANSLATION: I know everything about everything. My word and my deed is the law of the land. period.

"That was definitely my last time eating at that establishment and I'll tell my family and friends about this experience."
TRANSLATION: It's more fun to trash talk than to actually speak or write a letter to the owners to make them aware of my dining experience

"It's obvious the people in charge up there don't care about their employees or customers or this stuff would not happen!"
TRANSLATION: I've never met the owners and don't know them, but I like to just assume things about people.

Ah gotta love jealousy. People can't stand it when other people do things like own businesses and do successful things in life. Poor thing.

Eat there quite often, food always good, service always been good both from car hop and eating inside. At least at Hicks there is a large selection to choose from, and you don't have to wait forever just to give you order just to have it messed up.

first all ive never worked at hicks but do know people who and have in the past an they only start cooks out at 5.85hr an the reason for this is because they are NOT!!!! A franchise such as sonic or mcdonalds etc... an the way the staff behaves in front of cuatomers is wrong point blank!!!! And ive seen cases where they manager just writes in n out what times they work and the employee keeps track of their own hours all the sudden guess what neither one matches what the other has. And come payday if the person maken out the checks its whenever they want and convient for them its even been a day larer than its supposed to be!!!! Leadership reflects attitude and the leadership is awful i dont thonk it would cost much to get a time clock that way theres no arguing bout hours worked and the way alot of the employees dress is awful some look like hobos,or scadly clanned dressed young ladies who think thats the only way to make good tips is crap, need to have a.dress.code for all employees and the yelling an arguing in front of customers is tottally uncalled for!!!! And all the hanky panky touchy, feeling is not for the workplace either!!! And like i said before the employees that do bust their butts off for 5.85 hr for ever then only to be making 7.25 is wrong AGAIN IVE NEVER NEVER WORKED THEIR NOR WOULD I IF THATS HOW THEY TREAT EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!!
