Any railroad right of way is private property, so you would need permission to trespass on the right of way. Sence trespassing on a railroad is dangerous and illeagl, this would be the reason you would need to have a license to be on the right of way. I'm sure the license will come with rules and regulations for the person holding the license. The traffic on the city owned railroad is very lite so, there is not much danger to the property owners next to the right of way. If you where to try to get a permit to trespass on a different railroad it would be denied for safty reasons. The license would cut the liability the city would have for letting someone trespass.

That is right. the north south railroad is owned by a private company. It use to be the IC&E. You wouldn't beable to do anything leagly on there right of way. The city rails is the east west.

A license for this; a permit for that. When will they require a license to take a dump?

I'm having a brain fart.
So persons willing to spend the money, time and effort to clean up areas around train tracks have to apply and pay for a permit?? What the F*&^? The persons or company controlling the rail line should be responsible for cleaning and care of their own property. If it's a nuisance then stick them with a notice and bill for cleaning. If it's the city then someone light a match under their butts. They need to clean up their property first and set an example! |

I take you didn't read the above posts. I didn't read anything about paying for a permit. It is a liability issue. The city does not want everyone in town on the city right of way. |
