Would like to say congratulations to the softball team for advancing to the state final four this coming weekend. Since CHS Athletics have been struggling for the a while, it is so good to see these girls accomplish this. Just shows what hard work and dedication can do. These girls deserve this and hope they bring home a state championship this weekend!!

Isn't it great to mention Chillicothe and State playoffs in the same sentence! I think a send-off is much deserving..congrats Lady Hornets!

Does anyone know if KCHI is going to carry our game? I would really hope so, since they have carried all the football, basktball and Mudcat games. I encourage everyone to make the trip that can.

KCHI will not be able to carry the game, however I hope to be able to provide scoring updates during the game, thanks to parents and fans attending the games.

That really sucks that KCHI can't be there. But they are there to cover our football team whether they get killed every game or are having a great year (which has not happened for a while.) but yet we have a team that is in the final four with a legit shot at a state championship and they won't support them. That is crap!!

By the way yes I believe that there is a send off scheduled sometime Thursday morning. The girls are having a pep rally Thursday morning I believe sometime and then they are having a police escort out of town where parents, fans, and students from the elementary school will send them off up town somewhere. Then they will head to Springfield for practice and all the other formal stuff that comes along with getting this far. If you have any questions I am sure you can call the school and ask them if you would like to support the girls and show them that the town is behind them. It's so nice to have CHS Hornets back in the mix of things, even if it is in softball. It proves that success breeds success. And if you win, kids will want to play. Congrats again Ladies, Stan, Mike, and Jim. You guys have earned this!!

Also forgot to mention, hearing from some people around town that Sarah Baldwin is up for St Joe NewsPress athlete of the week. So if you want to vote for her go to newspressnow.com and then athlete of the week.

There are a lot of things I'd like to post on here, but I think I'll just keep quiet.
If anyone has questions concerning this or any issue relating to KCHI radio, please feel free to call or visit during regular business hours M-F 8am to 5pm.
Thank you.

No that was not any disrespect to the Softball team. But you know as well as I do some people around here won't care about the softball team getting to state since it is not one of the main sports. Everyone knows basketball and football rule this town. But hey this may open eyes of the other athletes and coaches about what we can do.

And Randy, sorry did not mean to upset you. But we worship football in this town, and dont get me wrong I love football. And would love to see us get back to be the class of the MEC and a perennial state power. But yet we have a team here that no one notices, that has won 8 out of 10 district championships and has been a regular in the state playoffs and we can't broadcast their game? Does KCHI not have more than one set of equipment to carry games. Can they not find someone to call a game. Look at 101.7 in Trenton they call almost all the softball games. I would just like to know what is in the way or carrying the game on the radio

They want to fill the stands for a grand picture Friday night at the game. Wouldn't it be grand if people decided to attend the softball game Friday instead. I get tired of listening to the football games and who the announcers have picked out to be the heroes. No wonder we don't have a team the kids get sick of it too. GO LADY HORNETS!

This is a discussion that needs to be done in person with the Station Manager (which is NOT me.. I just do what I am told).
I simply tried to answer someone's question regarding if the game would be aired on KCHI. That will be the last time I do that on this site.
There is another radoi station in Chillicothe, and they also have carried sports in the past. Perhaps someone can ask them to do the game? Just a thought.

I was told that the Wave (105.9) was going to broadcast the games. Might be worth checking into to see if it is true.

If so that would be awesome!! Maybe 105.9 should be the new home of the hornets!

Someone would have to pay to sponsor this and I think it is pretty expensive compared to the amount of people that follow softball.

Dear Mr. B&E Bob
In case you missed my earlier post, let me repeat myself. I have no decision making powers at this radio station. Inquiries regarding anything and everything concerning KCHI radio should be discussed with the Radio Station General Manager, which is not me. I am simply an employee that does what I am told, to the best of my limited abilities.

Thank you.

Why sponsor? Do you have to have a sponsor to broadcast something. Plus you would have alot of people listen, big deal being in the final four.

Doesn't KCHI claim to be the legendary home of the hornets. But yet all they care about is Hornet Football which is in a slump, and basketball. And like BE Bob said the mudcats. Which aren't even from here. But yet there is a Hornet team in the final four and KCHI doesn't care. I will no longer listen to them.

The only reason you bunch of retarted inbred bandwagon jumpers give a sh*t about this, is because it's a chance to bash someone. I've been to the softball games, and attendance is very poor. There were maybe 20 fans, not counting parents, there for Senior Night game. WHere were all you softball fans then? NO WHERE. Don't give me this "Oh It's a SHAME" bullsh*t. Wasn't there a golfer in the state tournament today? Why isn't anyone bitching about no play by play of that?
Shut the f' up, man up, and do what the dude said, call the station, ask for the owner and bitch at him.

And, by the way, "Great (RETARDED) one"..radio stations have to make money. they are a business. I've never paid a listership fee, so I'm guessing they get their money off of commercials. F'n idiot.

Gus,

I agree attendance is not great at the softball games. Part of the reason I'd they play them at 4:30 in the afternoon. Hard for most people who work. And yes I was at the senior game. I have been at all the games, and many road games. Nothing against Ms. Sivill, and congratulations to her on getting that far.
