Well get ready parents, your children are going to be complaining about what they're eating big time before long if someone can't stop it.
The NO-IT-ALLS are going to try again to bring OPAA cafeteria services in again.
Somebody got it stopped last time, so I truly hope they do it again. It will mean no more deserts and pretty awful food. On top of that OPAA is going to bring a bunch of their own people in, so there will be more unemployment for Chillicothe.
It's not fair to the children or the cafeteria cooks. Ask someone from Hamilton or Brookfield what they think of it.

If you think the food is bad or going to be bad then pack your kids a healthy lunch from home.

As for bringing in their own people, I don't think that would be feasible considering the pay level that a cafeteria worker makes.

I can't seeing people driving from out of town for that position. But I could be wrong.........

You obviously haven't seen OPAA operate. They have people willing to relocate for a job. The price of lunche will go up to pay for their trained people. Oh sure they hire local people back, but they are expected to work harder than a diesel train and for longer hours. If the school complains they cut everybody's hours back, except their cronies and charge even more for the lunches. ASK someone who used to work at Hamilton or Brookfield or any other small school. It just won't work here!

Trust Opaa is very bad, like cancer spreading. In Marshfield Mo., the superintendant sold the school district out completely. Less than 40 hours at week(you can guess why). No benefits, no sick time, nothing. And to top it all off low wages. Even forced cooks to clock out and keep working. And if any word got out that they were doing this the cook would be fired!!!! They need to be investigated but no one cares about cooks, right? Now, I learned today they are forcing ALL remaining cooks to join Opaa or be fired. Yes, school board decided they needed some extra budget money to throw parties and such. Nice community that Mashfield is.......

We have OPAA! at our school and my daughter really enjoys the food as well as the other kids at the school. I don't know why anyone would think that people would relocate to work at OPAA! If anything I would imagine that when transitioning they may bring trainers in to train the workers, but that wouldn't be putting people out of a job as I'm sure they'd leave after that. I know our school district currently has openings in their cafeterias.
They may not give out dessert, but I've never attended a school that did and don't really see it as necessary anyway. My kids get dessert for dinner a couple of nights a week, but never for lunch.
This is what their food options were for today
Breakfast: Biscuits & Gravy, Sausage, Strawberries, Juice
Mini Pancakes, Strawberries, Juice
Cereal, Cinnamon Toast, Pineapple, Juice
Oatmeal, Cinnamon Toast, Pineapple, Juice
Lunch: Cheese Pizza (I'm sure it came with sides, but the first option never includes them for whatever reason)
Grilled Ham & Cheese Sandwich, Fresh Garden Salad, Roasted Vegetables, Blushing Pears
Popcorn Chicken Salad, Roasted Vegetables, Blushing Pears, Fruit Streusel Muffin
Doesn't sound half bad compared to what my school fed us as kids.
If the workers can't keep up with the demand of the job then they're not cut out for it. I do not want my kids school lunches to only be compromised of out of the can, and frozen junk food. I plan on working there next year once my youngest starts school so that I'll be able to follow the school schedule.
BTW I realize this is over a year old, but thought I would add my input for others who may happen across it.
