They finally officially slid the mayor's son into a job. They listed him as a seasonal employee. I thought we hired the high school kids for groundskeepers as seasonals not the 40 some year olds? I see we have only one council person that seems to be listening to what citizens are saying and is not afraid to stand up and vote for how he should.

LOOK WHAT FINALLY CAME OUT IN THE NEWS TODAY! City Hires Mayor's Son For Parks Department Job Mayor Chuck Haney's son Kevin is a Chillicothe City employee. The Chillicothe City Council approved the hiring as a grounds keeper Monday in executive session. The mayor was not participating in the meeting at the time and the Third Ward Councilmen Tom Douglas voted no.

As an applicant for the City of Chillicothe grounds keeper position, I'm wondering how many applicants were interviewed for the job. I know that I was never contacted for an interview, although I was qualified for the position. It's rather disheartening to not even be given an opportunity to be interviewed. It's rather disgusting to learn that the mayor's son was hired behind closed doors. Is the City of Chillicothe an Equal Oportunity Employer, or not? I THINK NOT!!!!!

Can something be done about this blatant injustice? What are the options for the applicants who were so unfairly disregarded? I'm sure there are laws to protect us. I'm just not sure where to look. Can someone help???

Because they didn't vote the way you would have, they are automaticly corrupt? Did you ask them why they voted they way they did? It's really easy to call out people by name and sling mud while hiding behind an internet name.

It was wrong and it was illegal! Calling them on it is not mud slinging.

The city councils only excuse they gave for the hiring was that Chuck wasn't in the meeting when the decision was made. Sad.

everyone has a right to an opinion, however it is my belief that if you call someone out by name and make accusations of inproprities or illegal activities, then you should have the backbone to sign your name to it. If I call someone out by name and accuse them of illegal activities, I'll sign my name and adress.:) by the way, I agree with your other thread.. I prefer color lights downtown over the white holiday lites too.

Hey, I didn't have to call them out by name, the newspaper did Tuesday night. How else do you think I knew who voted for it?
