So when you were there and saw them getting into their cars, why didn't you try and stop them?

LOL! Just because people drink or smoke pot you assume they then go try killing innocent people? I think I can safely say you are a bonafide moron for makng a blanket statment to that degree aimed towards an entire culture of people who like to have a good time, relax, and hear some good music.
Dealers, heroin addicts, and crack heads have no place in the world other than cleaning their lives up, as far as I am concerned, but a lot of the people who go to these festivals and have a drink or smoke a joint are hard working people who need an outlet to just blow off some steam and they aren't hurting a fly.
That is a FAR CRY from delinquints loose on the roads looking to kill innocent people!
Seems to me like you watch to much t.v.(probably after school specials, and DEA sponsered P.S.A.'s!)
It IS possible to have a recreational weekend without somebody dying. Your overdramatics are honestly more entertaning than they are ANYTHING I would take seriously.
well this past year, a group of stupid ass hippie wannabe stoners were blown out of their mind, crossed the median and killed a volounteer fireman in stop defending people who break the law....if you get caught, you get caught, then you pay the price.

yeah weed definitely doesnt kill people, look it up...good try though...if this actually happened, it was probably some harder drug...or alcohol, or just some other factor that noone aware of...except the people there.

weed may not directly kill people, but look up some other facts. Weed is the gateway drug. Many kids who use weed begin to use harder drugs while under the influence. This is what makes weed dangerous. why not find other ways in life to relax and have a good time. It's a sad thing that people think they need to smoke weed to enjoy thier life to fullest.

If your gonna smoke weed or do your drugs do them at home. Once you get out on the street when your under the influence or out smoking in public your bought and paid for. I believe that they should have made more bust or atleast gave more people Notice To Appear tickets.

Gateway drug? REALLY?

Having smoked marijuana for over ten years and never fallen prey to hard drugs... and the majority of my friends being in the same boat and actually strongly against cocaine... I'd have to call your statement flimsy at best, stacey. The only thing that makes the gateway theory hold any water is the jerks who push the harder shit because it's more profitable.. marijuana is not very profitable, because so many people sell it to friends just to support their own peaceful habit. It's when you get into larger quantities, guns, high illegality, risk, that's when it becomes dangerous and harmful... Sorry, don't try to blame the drugs, I was offered and refused hard drugs plenty of times while heavily under the influence of marijuana. Alcohol is ten times the gateway drug because of the huge impairment to judgement. Believe me, I've done some stupid shit while drunk, but never hard drugs.

^^^ this is truth
when this particular "drug" is put into a legal/illegal context, it becomes an issue of not being able to garden your own out of fear of social and economic alienation
so only risky, profit minded folks will take up the task to become providers. then large unregulated sums of money and an expensive product exists which drives that capitalizing mindset of greed
then guns and violence exists
in and of itself cannabis is not a catalyst for violence or health problems, however the state of its legality and the potential of each individual human being's mental and emotional disorders can contribute to it being coupled with negative consequences
in fact, alcohol has a higher potential for social impacts (aside from legal), acute and long term health effects, addiction, and irratic/ beligerant/violent behavior
and tobacco use poses a much higher risk of health effects and dealth
^^ all this on top of the inherent risks of using marijuana or any mood altering agent from food/sex/coffee to pharmecetical prescriptions
yet they are legal for whatever traditional and economic reasons (as with everything its complicated and has a long history behind it)
and then disrespectful, ignorant, intolerant, folks try to apply their equally unresonable ideals on others for whatever self absorbed reasons
bad apples are bad apples no matter what drugs they use or dont use
obviously intoxicated driving cannot be defended
but the same people who are your doctors, lawyers, mechanics, food servers, parents, siblings, cashiers, scientists, and engineers may be pot smokers
and even though their social successes may demand your respect, you will deny it because of their choice in medium toward their personal spiritual fulfilment in their short physical manifestation on this earth
bigotry and ignorance...

Listen up! My parents have put up with that shit for 6 years now and have never had a problem with it! That is until last year when one of those intoxicated(on who knows what) showed up in our back yard peeping through the windows and when asked by my father what he was doing he said he needed a ride to the festival and had no car. It was less than a city block across the street to the grounds! There is a serious safety issue for the people who live in the vicinity! They put up with the increased traffic and noise! They shouldn't have to put up with people out of their mind wandering through their yards and pisssing on the right of ways and most of all scaring the hell out of people at 3am. The people who live in that area are in danger because some of the losers don't have any respect or ethics especially when the hard drugs have erased all sense of morality from their minds! It is only time till a resident gets raped or killed or worse..a resident child is abducted or hit by a drunk or intoxicated festival parasite. Smoke some and drink some... enjoy yourselves but have some common sense and some decency and stay put and leave your kids at home. As it is right now it is no place for children or even under 18. If anyone ever comes around and bothers my folks again I am going to handle it my own way. There needs to be some promotion and involvement from the promoters and when you enter the grounds on issues like this. Keep kids out, zero tolerance policy booze and all drugs other than marijuana,Prohibit leaving the grounds (no reentry). They can set up general store on property and have a heavy police presence in the neighborhood around the festival property..not just on grounds.I love festivals but this is getting out of hand Mr. Fyke, Mr. Mauer, Mr. Gould

on Rome West....have found these tweakers wandering thru the fields behind house and some were even run out of the back of the CMCO sand pit/junkyard. They had a mini-camp set up there. And while none of that really bothers is trespassing, and a place has been provided at Three Sisters already. I agree scott, 99% of these people are ok and harmless, it's that 1% that gets a little too brave/fried/creative/adventure some that are the cause for concern. When an armed 4-wheeler patrol along the fenceline becomes necessary each year......well....somebody is gonna need a teflon kneecap!

Oh and to you mr. scott
Get over it, you have to deal with your little hick town being overcrowded with people smokin dope. Try living in chicago, where there is barley any room to breathe and you get harrassed by a crack head every two feet, and it happens everyday. Man up.

BTW there is a general store on the the property....
