I agree someone needs to say something and not let rude parents smoke around children. If they wont to smoke around their kids perfectly fine, but should respect others. No smoking signs should be put up and they need to monitor and if you are caught smoking ask them to leave.

Chilhowie is small and thats where the ballfeild is located. I know they try not to get it too loud, but the parents of these wonderful kids trying to play ball need to hear the announcer. Its definetly not as loud as a football game. I can understand the music, but they need an announcer.

Can't please anyone and never will. No matter what anyone does to try to fix these issues someone will still complain. It's a public place, it's a ballfield. I agree there should be no smoking or if there was than it needs to be in a designated spot but as far as the music & announcing goes, good grief people it's Little League, leave the kids alone!

The place is filled with most retired people. They knew the ballfield was there when they moved there, so they should have expected noise.I agree with the non smoking signs! But the noise.... Get over it or move the heck out. Good grief.

I agree, you can't make everyone happy and the little league is doing their best to try and make everyone happy! These men and women that are part of the little league work their butts off, after their regular jobs, to keep up the field and find announcers and most of all, to make it fun for the kids!!!! It doesn't matter what you or I like, it's for the kids! Let them have fun! They listen to music to warm up to and they love it! If you have a problem with someone smoking around you then be adult enough to ask them to step back, it's not against the law to smoke a cigg outside!

I usually do not frequent this site, but someone told me there were people complaining about Little League here. Listen, all we are trying to do is give our community children a place to experience the thrill of our country's national pastime, baseball. I work 6 days a week myself and know how important rest is, but you live next to a baseball field. My mother bought a house next to the train tracks a few years ago and complains about the trains! Go figure? Most of the volunteers at CLL work very hard to make a child's experience here a positive one. If you could really hear everything the announcer said, You would hear them announce that CLL is a tobacco free park. That is a new agreement between the Town & CLL, so we are starting to take the steps neccesary to resolve this issue. We also have a banner just outside the concessions area stating that CLL pledges to be tobacco free. We all are trying really hard to make a difference in a child's life here, so please don't knock CLL. If you would like to make a difference in the way things are done here, I invite you to become a volunteer here. We could always use a few extra hands.

Well said. Perhaps if Chilhowie Little League had more volunteers, then people could monitor things like smoking. A few selfless volunteers are dedicating their time to this good cause. You should not complain unless you are trying yourself to make a difference.

AMEN CLLMOM!!!! You couldn't had worded that any differently! There are a few of us who dedicate every moment outside of work to CLL to make sure that our kids have everything they need to play baseball/softball with nothing in return but the smiles on our kids face.
