I think it's more of a shame that some people are so lacking in culture and knowledge that they cannot comprehend the skill and mastery of food that the new chefs have brought to rural Virginia. It is a sad state that some people are so focused on portion size (which is right on par for what the body needs as a meal, eating to be full simply isn't good for you, but I digress) rather than the flavor combinations that are utilized.

Seriously. There are plenty of options in the area for those of you seeking heaping portions of meat and potatoes, or monster scoops of ice cream for dessert... If that's what you want, go to exit 7. I, on the other hand, am thankful that those of us who prefer a true fine dining experience have the option to dine at the Town House.(And to support a quality locally owned business, something we don't often have the chance to do in our Wal-mart culture...)

Change doesn't happen very often in a small town like Chilhowie. I respect the Town House for having the vision and audacity to do something different! I look forward to eating there for the 3rd time since the new chefs started when I return to VA next week.

I had eaten at Town House several times before and LOVED the crab cakes.........best food I had ever put in my nouth. I am so dissapointed at the change in menu and the chef. I could not believe how LITTLE food we received for such a large cost. The selections were dissapointing themselves. I cant imagine this will continue to survive in Chilhowie. BEFORE, it was a dining experience with wonderful food that was worth paying the extra dollar for. We spent $120 for 2 people. We left and went to McDonalds for dinner. Tom Bishop- open you eyes and realize the mistake in your change before it sinks what could be a fabulous place again.

I am very happy that Mr. Bishop opened his eyes and found his new chefs. The old crab cakes were bland, dry and pitiful when compared to the the current deconstructed crab cake, which is utterly mindblowing.

Hey there get-real! I totally agree with you on the fried taters, cornbread and pinto beans! I'd much rather stay home and eat that anyday as to go back to the Town House. I don't like all those foo foo's there. I like real people!

I wouldn't know anything about being perfect, but I do know that I can spell common words correctly. I mean come on, you spelled grammar wrong...despite the comedic irony, it is right there on the screen, all you have to do is copy it. In response to you Myrtle: no one has to ask me for my opinion. This is an open opinion-based forum. You've given your naive, hidebound opinion to which you are entitled. I was offering some guidance to help you in your posting, so that you didn't continue to type inane gibberish and make fools of yourself. At least make your attempts at making a point not seem as callow. I think I've heard more clever insults come from children in kindergarten.
